    Seriously, would we have heard of Valuev if he was normal? Take away his size, what is he? What was he good at?

    Well, if you want to see him at his best, I would recommend the Barret fight.

    He's a solid boxer. Nice jab. Hard right. His size was a big asset, but he had others.

    You don't get as far as Valuev in boxing just on physical gifts alone. Boxing history teaches us this.

    I wasn't saying he could not fight. Obviously valuev had a foundation of boxing skills and worked hard utilising the basics in an effective way against smaller men used to operating against opponents of a closer size to themselves. Valuev specialised in being effective against smaller foes. So I asked (since we don't know and cannot answer about how he might fare against a guy physically equal to him) would we have heard of him if he was normal? I dont think, because it was not evident in the way he fought in order to be successful against much smaller men, we can say for sure he would be special if he was normal.

    He was very good against Liakhovich, also, if memory serves. Good, strong accurate jab and decent footwork.

    Yeah, It's hard to say. If I had to venture a guess, I would say he would still be successful, but perhaps not as successful. It's interesting how he matches up stylistically with Barret. They're not too dissimilar. Nothing about Valuevs style screams "I would be screwed if I was smaller." Like you said, he still needs to employ all the markings of a solid boxer to be at the level he was.

    So Marciano is fighting from a height of under 3 foot? Have you ever stopped to wonder how a 5'10" guy with a 68" reach regularly reaches the chin of a man 7 foot tall? Again your post belongs in the Rose Coloured thread.

    Yeah. He would use his crouch to get really low, and counter out of it with overhand rights.

    It's easy to be in the peanut gallery. Critique everything, add nothing.

    You sound like Rocky ****ed your wife. Why do you get all pissy when he's mentioned? Your rose colored thread is the biggest joke I've seen on the forum.

    He wouldn't be fighting from a height of 3 foot ,he could not maintain a crouch of that height for a fight and ,even if he could ,he would be completely ineffective. I like Marciano ,but I'm not keen on fan boys endlessly fellating him on this forum. I've added more to this forum than you ever will.You know nothing about boxing what so ever, in fact it's hard to think of a poster who is more blissfully ignorant of the basics of the sport. My rose coloured thread had 1934 views, 118 replies ,and is currently at 8 pages .Where is your equivalent?

You should measure the success of your contributions by the effect it has on your audience and the sport. Not by the traffic you gained through sensationalism and gossip. Furthermore, I'm not the one to have a dick measuring contest about who generates the most viewed boxing content between us.

    People leave the rose colored thread feeling worse off about boxing than when they entered it. That's why you're a joke. Your ego is more important than boxing itself. You needed to create a space for everyone to throw darts at great boxers, because you hoped some of them would land on Marciano.

    https://streamable.com/9laz - Marciano apparently reduces his height in half with his crouch. He could get pretty low. Almost at Alis knee level with his body parallel to the ground. Basically in his crouch, he's sometimes only as tall as his bent legs.
