I think it would be a very forgettable fight.
Toney's skills would be wasted on an immense man whose chin would be out of reach for Toney at 5'9"
Valuev would look awful pawing away and leaning on him all night.
Decision for the fighter who is in his home country!!

I think if Toney shows up in shape and motivated he'd be able to out box Valuev. I think he'd easily make the slow big plotting Valuev miss and would find openings to tag the tall monster with big right hands and body punches. I think Toney gets the U/D.

Valuev wins this, Toney is just too small, and little to hurt this 7-1 325lb giant, the only question is could Toney make it to the final bell..
Valuev would just walk thru James punches and have his way all night long..

Toney should be able to out hustle him if he shows up in the shape he was for HOLYFIELD or Rahman 2....Juan Dominguez was 5'9 and landed well against Value, Toney was a much better fighter and better Heavyweight than J Dominguez...Toney UD unless Valuev can keep him at the end of the jab which would be hard...James gets inside and wins a close UD

    Toney. Decision.

Way too big of a target in there and every time James threw anything as a counter it'd land. And Valuev would not land anything with his ponderous third class mail mail punches he threw. He's not landing that stuff on a Toney who'd see everything from a mile away. James would solve this guy in round one.

Valuev would literally weigh twice Toneys natural size.

If you even dream of Toney winning you better wake up, walk over to your scale, and apologize to it.

I think collectively this forum would favor Toney over Marciano against Valuev.

Because Toney was a SHW genetic freak who could stand toe to toe with the likes of boogeymen Sam Peters.
But put lil small unbalanced, slow, unathletic, no jabbin Rocky in there, and he is completely outmatched by the realities of mass. Peters left would be like Saturn, his right like Neptune. And when his fistic dynamite lands on the fragile little Rocky, the ethereal aura of all energies would implode into one atom that would engulf the universe and destroy everything in its path.

    Tis true you know.

Valuev is the prime example of a fighter who wins literally just because he's big. He has no stand out skills whatsoever. Saying that there comes a point when size alone starts to create mechanical advantages against a smaller opponent, and for that reason I'm willing to give Valuev a chance in this.

If forced to choose, however, I'd go with Toney. Valuev lost to and struggled with too many smaller opponents for Toney not to emulate their success and then some. I think the fight looks a little like a cross between the first Peter fight and Valuev vs Haye, with Toney avoiding every ponderous jab Valuev throws, countering with brutal overhand rights and jabs/right hooks to V's midsection, walking around him and mugging him while Valuev follows him around the ring, and occasionally getting clinched and leant on when Valuev manages at times to close distance.

Toney by UD, provided no funny business is involved.
