Pretty sure Bennie claimed that he sparred with Nino and messed up his ribs and was thrown out of camp. Real fight I give Bennie a great chance. (I'm from Philly too)
I heard that story of him messing up Nino's ribs too. It may have been sparring for the Dick Tiger fight, but not sure.
I hadn't realized how closely I rate these two in their primes. Bennie would put a hurt on Nino more then once but would take his share to the the head also, enough that I think he'd lose a disputed split with the crowd wanting a rematch.
