Nino Benvenuti vs Julian Jackson

Of coarse Jackson catching Benvenuti and hurting or maybe stopping him is a possibility. But I like Nino to survive a few shakey moments early and actually stop Jackson in the late rounds. Benvenuti was a very good boxer and counter puncher...I think Nino's counter left hook will find a place...Benvenuti KO 12

 

Yeah, I agree..when Nino was "on" he would be too much for a limited fighter like the Hawk. Then there's the possibility that Nino wasn't "on"..and gets stopped..he would have turned the tables in the rematch..Nino did rematches very well, until Monzon.

 

Yeah, Nino by midround stoppage. Jackson was fun but Nino was better. And Griffith would beat Jackson too.

 

I would tentatively take Nino to finish what Herol Graham started, perhaps a few rounds later by taking the more cautious scenic route, and Julian could not dismiss Nino's power when presented with a clean target, perhaps Luis Rodriquez made that mistake !?

 

Griffith would definitely beat JJ.

 

Was Jackson less accurate or a weaker puncher than Rubin Carter ? was his timing worse ? was he not as sound a boxer as Carter ?
he boxed Gerald McClellan well on some occasions in their fight .
I believe Jackson beats both Benevenutti and Griffith , possiblt by KO and especially Benevenutti who was not as good as Griffith .

That was not a freak outcome . Griffith managed 2 get floored even by Benevenutti in 2 out of 3 of their fights , and it wasn't like Benevenutti was such a huge middleweight , he was a former 154 lbs titlist and even not 1 of d best @ that weight . And it is more possible that such a freak outcome would happen against Jackson than against Carter , even .

I think Julian Jackson is more likeable 2 stop a man in 1st rd than Rubin Carter . And since Rubin Carter did , Jackson could 2 . Of course Griffith could last longer than 1rd vs Jackson , and also against Carter , but he actually was stopped in 1 by Carter , it could of course happen again .

Anything could indeed happen again, like Jackson suffering a ko loss like he did to McCallum. Benvenuti was not some European creampuff Frank..he had a great record and was able to starch guys like Rodriguez and Mazzinghi. He was too clevr for JJ, and I'll repeat, there's NO WAY Jackson stops Emile Griffith.
