This is not very clear cut.

Ortiz has shown a total lack of ability to cut off the ring and deal with movement.

Did Valdes fight that way or was he more of a spoiler like Ruiz?

If you get close to Ortiz you put yourself in danger. Jennings is by far the more skiled fighter but he couldn't live with the power and his style kept him in range for the full fight.

Valdes would be up close all night and I don't see a reasonable argument to suggest he can outbrawl Ortiz or outbox him up close.

I would be very surprised if Ortiz could not out box Valdes who had a good effective jab, Ortiz doesn't move his head.

Ortiz easily. I have seen Valdes on film a few times. He's an apprehensive type, a bit of a poor man's Riddick Bowe, but without the lust to mix it up.

I still think Ortiz is ok for this day and age. no reason why he can't win a belt when Charles Martin can.

Martin was lucky with a vacant title against another guy who needed a lot of favourable judging.

Anyone can get a title if it's given out like that.

Because of how he beat Jennings and Kayode.

    And they had beaten who?

Luis Ortiz tested positive for a banned substance after the fight. On October 27, 2014, the NSAC postponed the taking of a decision whether to change the result to a no-contest or not until a full hearing of Ortiz who was not yet ready to testify on that date.

    Valdes beat contenders;
    London
    Erskine
    Sys
    Neuhaus
    Agramonte
    Richardson
    Holman
    Bethea
    Carter
    Parker
    McMurtry
    DeJohn x2
    Cockell
    Jackson
Ortiz has beaten f*ck all.If he was anything they would not be matching him with likes of Monte f*cking Barrat!lol

Jennings can obviously fight. Saying otherwise just means you haven't watched enough him. Ok resume too.

You know what Ortiz and Wlad have in common? They're the only two people in 16 years to stop Tony Thompson.

Now ask yourself if you believe Ortiz would lose 1/3 of his fights if he had to fight the guys who Valdez did.

But the real reason I'm saying Ortiz would win is because there's film of Valdez and he fought sloppy and small. He had the physical tools to go farther than he did, but Emmanuel Steward wasn't around.

    How old is Thompson?lol .
Jennings has beaten no one of any real note and neither has Ortiz that is undisputable ,saying otherwise means you obviously haven't watched them enough.

Jennings beat Perez who was good (see Abdusalamov fight) and Szpilka who is top 20. He also won four rounds and went the distance with Wlad, the most competitive challenge to Wlad in years. He didn't go the distance with Ortiz.

Now ask yourself again if Ortiz would lose 33% of his fights if served Nino's opposition and there's your answer to would was better h2h.

Thompson (prime) and Jennings would also beat Nino.
