So who'd you pick? Marquez too powerful? Nishioka has more in the tank? Is he a bit too quick? I'd have picked Marquez normally but I'm wondering after all those wars how much is left. So Nishioka by clear but competitive ud.
These days, I go with Nishioka. Marquez's size and power made him special back at 118, but they were both below average at 126, and his speed has taken a big hit as well. The real question is whether he can get any of that back by moving back down to 122 so late in his career.
Yeah. He looked to small to deal with Lopez. I'm wondering weather the drop back will help or hinder him.
Your not Jpab This content is protected Seriously tho, good good fight this. I hope Marquez can pull it off, but Nishioka nicks it for me
I'm going to go with Marquez to pull out one last fine performance and stop Nishioka somewhere around the 8th to 10th rounds
nishioka. i think he's one of the most underated fighters about. he's got the skills, he's very fast, and he's also a very good body puncher. my only concern for this fight is, how will nishioka take to boxing away from home, in las vegas. if he's ok with vegas, i think he wins this big time.
:good Sums up what I think too. Just thinking back to the JML-Rafa fight and it was only when they were brawling without thought that Rafa was having his main success. When JML tried to box and gave himself a bit more time he started having the greater success of the two. I know that Nishioka will be smart enough to not get involved in a war here, he'll be on his feet as much as possible and with the speed difference he'll be able to build a sizeable points lead.
My heart says Marquez but the brain tells me Nishioka UD. Nishioka is in his prime and his hand speed should be too much for Marquez at this stage in his career. Rafa's been in a few too many wars, still love watching him though! Technically brilliant. A few years back no doubt in my mind Marquez would have stopped Nish. War Rafa!!!
@ Vano. Nishioka's gone from underrated pre-Munroe to overrated post-Munroe. I favour Rafa, and I've posted too much on it to explain why again, heart ruling over head though is probably the main reason.
Also, Nishioka is one of the most determined guys out there. Winning the title on his 5th attempt, and in his first defence having to travel to mexico to fight Jhonny Gonzalez, getting off the deck in the first to ko him in the third. Vegas doesn't strike me as as quite as intimidating an arena as that.
