The fight will be held either late morning or early afternoon British time and Maloney hopes to announce a British television deal before the end of this month.

He added: “There is every chance of it being screened live, but at worst I think it will be on a very short delay.”

So could it be somewhere other than Sky?

I think it be on Sky. They worked hard on building the working class hero image with Munroe and shown him on route to this shot i doubt they let him go to another channel. Be strange to watch live boxing on Sky in early afternoon. Plus Maloney knows his bread is buttered with Sky...going elsewhere would not be a good move long term.

It's got to be on Sky, didn't Maloney sign a new deal with them recently?

On a related note, boxrec have Roman Gonzalez and Jorge Linares fighting on the undercard :happy. Let's hop both are shown.

    at the very least Sky.

and the very worst Maloney needs to set up an internet link to stream this fight.

******tv normally show fights from Japan, if memory serves me right its normally on around mid-to-late morning.

Haye had 6 fights in a row on Sky and didn't even make an offer for it when he was a Maloney fighter.

yeah but this is different time and in different place. People's mindsets change and it could change on this one. Sky will probably pick it up imo.

At that time Sky may have spunked most of there budget on Hatton vs Mayweather which was upcoming. Also i think Don King had a say in things.

The other thing with the Haye fight was it was a Saturday night which Sky weren't interested in at the time. To show it on a Sunday (I suspect Sunday night) is much easier for their scheduling. But if they don't want it then I would guess Maloney is entitled to try and sell it elsewhere but can't see anyone else touching it

    EDIT: Maybe Primetime would

the Haye fight was SBO and was a success.

the repeat wasn't on until a week later I think.

He mentioned when Sky built him up though, they were hyping the **** out of him for ages then he got the title shot and he didn't exist anymore to them.

was that not anything to do with his deal expiring and not dealing with the usual promoters because he went his own route?

I don't know why the stopped I'm just making the point that Maloney is talking about a TV deal for a fight in another country. Sky has built Munroe up just like Haye so I'm just saying maybe they won't go for it like they did with Haye.

They probably will though. hopefully :thumbsup
