Wisaksil Wangek vs. Wuttichai Yurachai, 6 rounds @ bantamweight

 

56-6-1 vs. 1-1 ...you know, just normal Thailand stuff.

 

Young urban professional (boxer).

 

Round 1

Wangek crowding in on Yurachai and getting to work behind the right jab up top and left uppercut on the body immediately. Yurachai circling away, takes a pair of clapping hooks up top and responds with a pair of long looping body shots backing up. Yurachai keeping his distance, getting pummeled downstairs when the former two-time world champ gets close. Yurachai able to slip the Wangek jab pretty easily by constantly staying outside its range and pulling back above the waist, but Wangek continues to cut the ring off and score on the body. Yurachai managing to land some left jabs up top and shoveling rights on the body of Wangek.

Both look very soft in the middle. Like, hint of a potbelly (not helped by trunks hiked up high enough to create a muffin top) and boobs. Neither's a natural 118lber.

 

Round 2

Yurachai down immediately! The ringing of the round bell was still echoing and the camera had barely cut to a full view of the ring when Wangek caught him cold. Yurachai beats the count but Wangek belts him down again, big left hand. Yurachai given the go-ahead by the ref for a second time and Wangek wails on him. Heavy right hooks and straight lefts. Yurachai taking some punishment here, for going on two minutes straight. Finally the output slows from Wangek and Yurachai grinds his way in close, arms folded against Wangek's chest, doing some infighting. Wangek getting the better of it still but Yurachai unafraid, pushing off to rip left hooks into the side of Wangek's head. 3-2 combo by Yurachai, mounting a bit of a comeback down the stretch in a pretty disastrous round. Five punch combination by Wangek.

10-7 Wangek

Yurachai showed a ton of heart and the ref gave him a ton of latitude.

Slight change to either variable and on a different night that's a KO2.

 

The commentator sounds like Lo Pan from Big Trouble in Little China.

"Oh what IB, all Asians sound alike to you? "

No, lol, literally sounds like him, down to a tone of...evil malevolence?

 

Round 3

Yurachai has tasted Wangek's power and is now on his bike, skirting the perimeter and tossing flurries as diversions to either snap corners or move in and clinch. Wangek stalking but not getting much work done on his mobile prey. Yurachai ropes a right hand past Wangek's neck and takes a right hook in the breadbasket.

10-9 Wangek, very close, basically a null round

30-25 Wangek

 

Funfact: both Wangek (aka "Srisaket Sor Rungvisai" aka "The Thai Tank" aka "The Garbage Man") and Yurachai hail from the city of Sisaket, capital of the changwat, or province of Sisaket.

Fight's taking place in Bangkok, though.

Nonzero they're acquainted from the laundromat or something.

 

Round 4

Yurachai having a pretty good round, actually. Dancing around, making Wangek swipe and miss with right hooks (exhaling forcefully with each one, "yish. yiiiish. yish-yish!") and countering with straight flurries down the pipe into the bridge Wangek's nose. Yurachai very accurate with the right cross as Wangek is keeping his guard loose and low trying for heavily wound up telegraphed hooks or body shots.
