Nkosinathi Joyi in Desperate Bid To Save His IBF Title

    Article over at the Scene..

    Basically he's failed to honor his mandotory for 3 dates against Japanese fighter Katsunari Takayama.

    The IBF has since scheduled for the promotional rights of the fight to go to purse bids next Tuesday.

    While this has been playing out, the Eastern Cape provincial government which initially promised to financially back his promoter Branco Milenkovic to stage the fight in Joyi’s backyard in East London has reneged on the agreement, leaving the southpaw champion in a predicament.

    This week the government launched a “Save Joyi’s Title Campaign” in which financial assistance was pledged to stage the fight in Joyi’s Eastern Cape Province.

    Joyi's left relying on the purse bids, of having title stripped..

    Hopefully he gets it taken off him so he actually steps up in weight. The division he's in is a waste of time for him considering his immense ability. He's been a joke lately, so ridiculously inactive, and what comes after that inactivity? Tokuyama?:verysad

    This whole situation he's found himself in is ludicrous, and everybody could see it coming from a mile off.

    He should **** his belt off and move up, Straw weight is a f'n waste of time joke of a division. Joyi should move up and fight Gonzalez, better still go straight up to Fly, he looks class but I wanna see him in with people his own size.

    he should just hustle a fight with takayama quickly anywhere.
    then get a calderon fight then unify (hasnt been done for a long while) or move up move up...or both.

    tell them (ibf) to **** themselves if needs be. i was a fan of his when he was the ibo champ when he beat pumar. just a single youtube vid of him stopping the guy from a camra phone 20 feet away. but you could see his movment pressure and skills where/are all there.

    but he is 28 he shoudl do soemthing. because being a 1 time minimum weight champion for a year or 2 with 1 and a bit defence means NOTHING to nobody.

    the unification with gonzalez looked real tasty. and joyi could arguably **** through it easily. but thats out the window. and could of been a great minimumweight superfight.....of sorts. but right now he is a world champion...and should fight on the World stage. come to the u.k. he will have s.a. support, will be in the same time zone as S.A. so tv can still cover it at the right time. fight on an undercard or even double header main event status. bbbofc hates the ibf and the minimumweight limit but they wouldnt deny world class talent.

    fight in florida (used to international fighters.) or california. also a lot of gyms filled with smaller weight division fighters. and cali/mexico border. mexico being the greatest exporter of sub-flyweight champions.


    just get yourself out there nko!!!!!!
