Does that mean Abraham was meant to fight Lee? Or was Abraham meant to fight Rubio (most likely)?

Honestly Abraham versus Rubio doesn't seem too bad. I thought Rubio was decent against Ouma on the DLH/Mayorga undercard.

Arum really is a weird character. Remember, a few days back he said the following:

It does not surprise me one bit, Abraham will stay in Germany fighting bums. Which is a shame because I think he has a great shot against Pavlik.

Blame both Arum and SE, but I guess we will have to wait for SEs reaction why Abraham won't fight on the under card...

No most likely Abraham was going to fight Giovanni Lorenzo on the card as there talk between there two camps.
And now Arum is talking about after Pavlik fights Lockett Pavlik fighting Randy Griffin and then John Duddy:patsch
Duddy I can see because it's a big money fight but Griffin I don't get at all:huh Pavlik should be fighting Abraham or Winky or Lorenzo instead if Griffin:nono

I'm a bit disappointed, but we can't blame Arum until we here from Abraham's people. I know there were negotiations going on to put AA on the undercard, but I have never heard any response from the Abraham camp. All in all the card seems to have shaped up into a good night of boxing. Rubio is a HUGE step up for Andy Lee. It will be interesting to see how Lee handles it. People need to stop criticizing the Pavlik/Lockett fight. Lockett is Kelly's WBO mandatory.

I talked to AA management last weekend and they said that their are still negotiating with US promoterS to bring AA to America.
Maybe I can give you info from Arum's point of view by tomorrow or at least Friday...

Good deal! I really think there are only two guys Pavlik NEEDS to fight at 160; Abraham and Wright. Lee isn't ready, and won't be for 18 months or so. Pitting him against Pavlik any sooner would be a foolish and unecesarry risk of his potential. I also really want to see winky go after Sturm. That could lead to 160 getting really hot for ahwile. Pavlik/Abraham, and Winky fights the winner.

While it would have been nice to see Abraham on the undercard to build toward a unification, at least everyone will get a chance to see Lee against a quality opponent since he has been hyped so much. I don't see Pavlik fighting Lee until he is about ready to move up in weight which is when Lee should be ready for him. Pavlik still wants to unify the belts and I think he can get a fight with Abraham as long AA's people are reasonable with money. I would like to see AA fight on american TV before the bout but think the fight dubbed as a unification fight would promote itself. It would be the consensus #1 and #2 middleweights in the world.

As far as winky goes, I really would like to see him fight someone in the top 10 before he gets another shot at a champion. He is 1-1-1 in his last 3 fights. I think Pavlik beats him because he employs the same tactic against him as he did against Taylor and thats just lots of punches. Pavlik definitely is better offensively than Taylor and Taylor did some damage against Wright.
