Exactly. Its easy to go all out in the first 4 or 5 rounds knowing that if the tide turns, you will just quit. And that is exactly what he did once the fight actually started. He started the fight off throwing 100% punches, benavidez put his guard up was just like "...okay? "

so you think they worked that out in camp? that was in his mind when the first bell rang? when you are doing something difficult, like down to the kernel of your soul, when you are sucking up pain and fatigue, it's not a cold calculation. when you start getting ****ed up unexpectedly, maybe you don't react in quite the same way you fantasized reacting when you were 10 years old.

    just sayin'...

Andrade did not go out on his shield. Did not show heart. He quit. Compare how Caleb Plant stood in there. Now that was the very definition of heart. Andrade didn’t come close.

Comparing Andrade to Plant is ridiculous. Plant is a natural 168 lber. Andrade isn't. He fights around 154-160. Of course Plant is going to fair better against Benavidez because the size gap isn't as much. With Benavidez is possibly the strongest 168 lber there is except for Canelo, Andrade never had any shot at all of surviving a firefight which Benavidez knew and capitalized on. His only hope was to outbox Benavidez defensively which he didn't do, thus resulting in him getting quickly destroyed.

Andrade stepping up to fight Benavidez is akin to Canelo stepping up to LHW to fight Joe Smith Jr. I think we all know what would happen if Joe Smith Jr got his hands on Canelo.

He did show heart but he just lacks the toughness and Brit Grit to hang in there longer because he graduated at a fear based school of slickness just like Haney and many others did. Plant graduated at the same school but he was successfully able to navigate his way to the final bell via employing the primary defensive skills of that school: Running and holding like crazy because he's naturally bigger and stronger than Boo Boo

Look at Brit warrior Liam "The Machine'' Williams' performance against Boo Boo. He fought Boo Boo at his natural weight, in Boo Boo's backyard on a huge stage over in the US for the first time which is an incredibly daunting experience for many non-Americans fighting over there on a stage of that magnitude for the first time, even more so for a Brit who comes from a small village in the valleys. He got off to an absolutely terrible start in that one after undereating Boo Boo's power and wading in recklessly. He took more punishment in those first few rounds than Boo Boo did in six against Benavidez, lots of flush bombs, and got dropped and nearly finished in round 2. Do you have any idea how demoralising that would've been and how much mental pressure he would've been under after getting off to the worst possible start fighting on a stage of that magnitude over in the US for the first time in his big moment?

He took a brutal shellacking in that fight but no matter how much punishment and how many flush shots he took nothing could deter him from steaming forward and trying to turn it around.

He even hurt Boo Boo a couple of times, once badly, and he managed to turn it into an extremely gruelling fight for Boo Boo through nothing but heart, will and sheer Brit Grit and determination.

This is what you call true heart. Hence why Brits are widely considered the fiercest bravest warriors in the world

He showed heart just by getting in the ring with Benavidez. More than Canelo so far.

I keep on hearing Andrade was small. The guy was a fit and trim 190 lb fighter during fight night.

    He was not smaller.

He didnt quit at all, gave it his best . His corner did the right thing in saving him from a further beating , from a bigger, stronger and better fighter. They did the right thing. Safety of the fighter over anything else.

To me , the fighter quitting is staying down when could easily get up .

Andrade was there just to receive his paycheck. He was too friendly with Benavidez before and after the fight.

If you're seriously challenging your opponent, you don't retire between rounds. He just wanted to go home before getting further damaged. That proves he was there to lose.

Plant and Boo Boo fights don't prove a thing, Canelo knocks out Benavidez easily, in my opinion.

I dont like Andrade, I think he's an *******, but he was going to get permanent brain damage in the next few rounds. A lot of permanent brain damage. His corner did very well stopping the fight.

The list of people that I would like to get brain damage in a sustained beating rather than andrade is next to infinite. Politicians almost all of them. He quit, but I'm ok with his quitting.

David landed like what 80 punches in the last 2 rounds? Basically landing 100 punches in only 2 rounds is crazy. That is a pummeling............a blood letting. It was all beaten out of him.

Ain't no reason to question heart when you get touched that much

He is not a natural warrior like Matias, Inoue, JMM etc... Boxing is not just a sport, so Its not enough to be a talented athlete.

He quit. Everybody knows it. Andrade decided that he had enough and didn't want to continue the fight. This happens all the time in boxing with power punchers. Look at Beterbiev's fights. Most of his opponents quit. They take knees and quit. Or the ref notices they have bad body language and stops the fight. It's boxing and fighters quit all the time. Remember when Beterbiev Knocked out Joe Smith Jr? That wasn't quitting. Joe Smith's brain was literally shutting down. Most knockouts come from a fighter quitting though. How often do we see a guy knocked put cold?
