No Arguing, No Criticisms, Just Vote And Explain - JONES JR v CALZAGHE

Only way Roy can win is by KO and I cant see it happening. RJJ has good defence but not enough to nullify Calzaghes work rate over 12

 

Jones can't keep up with Calzaghe's output and will tire and most likely lose by TKO, unless he can pull a Hopkins and feign a foul to take a timeout.

 

Wat can nullify work rate is solid body punching, which RJ is excellent at, and also effective counter punching which RJ is also very good at. I think even if Calzaghe traps him on the ropes. RJ can counter to the body and head effectively to sap some of calzaghes energy 2 take away some of that work r8. Calzaghe isnt a devastating puncher, so RJ can cover up and counter effectively

 

I dont think RJJ has the hand speed to land too many punches on Calzaghe. Calzaghe has never been, or at least seemed, tired in a fight. Hopkins is better than RJJ at removing opponents biggest strengths and calzaghe still got the better of him. Therefore Roys only chance IMO is a KO of some kind, which i cannot see happening. Roy may land the more effective punches but Calzaghes combos and work rate will win the judges over for a medium UD

 

I see Calzaghe winning on the cards, I have this outcome at about 75-80%. But I am not ruling out a KO/TKO win for Jones which for me is a chance of around 20-25%.

 

It's so disgusting that I don't even want to vote for that piece of **** who only decided to take this fight when he made sure Jones is beyond shot.

 

JC by UD or late tko.......

RJJ best rounds will be 1-6 and I would´nt be surprises if JC takes a dive - but no way RJJ will win this. I sure hope the best for the old master - but I really doubt he has enough left to make a 12 round stand..
Surely, RJJ believes he can shock the world, that he has seen something - but honestly everybody has been wrong until now about JC - and how to solve the puzzle ..... You can believe in your big experience, trainer staff and so on - but you just have to taste this "coffee" for real to know and understand the speciel taste... I wish RJJ good luck to solve this puzzle..

By the way - I don't believe in RJJ holding back against Felix, saving a surprise or somthing.. No way... RJJ has always been a winner and intertainer - he would'nt let go of a tko/ko if he was able to do it... No way - it's not his nature... I believe - what we've seen lately (last few years) is what RJJ got back - no more no less....
RJJ best chance to win - is to catch JC in the first 1-3 round with a flooring and go for the kill - offcourse he risks to run tired to fare to fast - but that is worth the risk (win or loss)...

Woo he doesnt have the handspeed are you mad. Calzaghe is a sucker for a str8 right hand. And RJ can land that punch effectively all night long. At this stage of his career I still think RJ hands are faster than Calzaghe. And he will have no problem with him

 

Jones by points, possibly TKO. Too many people are forgetting that the greatest master of our favorite sport is not done yet....Joe is good but not anywhere near the level of Jones

 

Calzaghe is not stupid enough to leave himself open against someone who still has significant power in both hands. Cal has a very solid chin and is unlikely to be KO'd unless caught early and flush. There is a chance of that. However it is only a small chance.

Hopkins is currently better than RJJ in most departments and Joe won by UD. RJJ will ahve to score significant punches early on to stand a chance in the long run, unless Cal's chin is not as solid as I think it is.

RJJ still has some handspeed but it is no longer the most impressive area of his game

 

Calzaghe easy UD. Jones is toast, plain and simple. He hangs out off the ropes too much, is too easy to hit because he's lost a lot of his quickness, and he doesn't have the reflexes he used to have. IMHO, this is a bigger mismatch than Pacquiao-Hoya.

 

well, jones is long away from his best but this seems like a fight he can very well win and one main reason is that calzaghe is not a big puncher at all. calzaghe with throw alot though so all that hanging on the ropes stuff has to be avoided for jones to do well. plus jones has the power to hurt calzaghe. should be a good fight. jones should be able to counter well enough for a decision. jones by ud, he drop calzaghe at least once.

 

I liked the way Jones looked last time. It's not the Roy of old by any means, but he looked reenergized. Joe didn't look so good and I think Roy will win a close points decision.
