Who do you think would win in a fight between 00's Calzaghe vs the 90's version before he hurt his hands? Equal in every physical aspect, except styles I guess...

Makes me think this thread, if Joe stayed injury free just how well he'd do as "Boxer Joe" instead of Calslappy as he was known. Boxer Joe embarrasses old Hopkins no problem look what he did to old Eubank. Joe with power and volume would be too much for Hopkins, and I think Boxer Joe would be a bit of a formidable bad mofo at LHW during his mid-thirties.

He was slapping all his career though, certainly as far back as against Eubank in 97, and only won on a split decision against Robin Reid a year later, and Reid was more interested in being a male model than being a boxer.

I mean he was a very good fighter in the late 90s, anyone who beats Eubank must be (shot or not...), but the idea he got worse in the 00s is a strange won.
