Canelo has ridiculous testicular fortitude. Looking at the first press conference, the difference in size between him and Kovalev is insane, even bigger than I initially thought.

Nobody in boxing is daring to be great like this guy is, not even close.

Kovalev gets a 5 week training camp and no real rest from his last fight which was a grueling affair.

Kovalev even said that he's still in recovery.

Plus Canelo is back on the PEDs.

Kovalev still has to KO him. That’s the only way to beat Canelo, has been that way for a few years now. Should be a good fight...

Kovalev will be in great fighting condition come November 2nd, only one round of the Yarde fight was gruelling for Kovalev, that’s a poor excuse. I think he beats Canelo but there should be no excuses if he loses, and Canelo deserves maximum credit.

Well if that's true then I have to favour even this old past-prime version of Kovalev to beat Canelo. Whether he gets the W if it goes the distance is another matter though.

Canelo is in for a very Rude awakening. I seriously hope Reynoso has a towel on hand. Kovalev is no ****ing joke.

Canelo will quit in ten rds. This is like Chavez Jr-Fonfara times a million

Did you expect Kovalev to say that he ISN'T ready?

I really didn't expect that. Now we only need impartial judges and we have a fight :ggg

That's cool. Would still prefer Sergey to have a full camp and the dudes to be in VADA 365 but it is what it is, makes me look forward to it more than I did previously

See if you've previously had the advantage of the promotional backing, the venue, the cards, the post prime opponent, and the PEDs, perhaps the rehydration too...

And now you abandon any weight tinkering but keep everything else, people think you're some amazing hero with no corrupt assistance.

His camp will be fine, it’s more like 6 weeks anyway as Kovalev will have been training since before this was officially announced. He’ll be sharp, with zero ring rust and ready to rumble.

Regarding VADA, Canelo isn’t the only one here that has run into controversy. Kovalev missed a test in the build up to the Alvarez rematch, and Yardes team claimed they had to force him to undergo testing for their bout.

    I'm kinda torn over this.

On the one hand it's a quick turn-around with little time for recovery, and any fight takes it out of a boxer and he needs to recuperate. On the other hand, Kovalev doesn't have a great record of using his down time productively, so less time out of the gym and on the vodka might be beneficial. Like Ruiz - also a notorious slacker between bouts - before fighting Joshua. He went from one camp to another with little rest, and that worked out okay....
