Word is he allowed them to continue the Fundora/Spence negotiations and he would fight the winner in 2025. Makes me think he has something else he is/has been trying to make happen before the WBO mandated the negotiations. Obviously, he pushed for a Canelo match up, but I doubt that is going to happen, at least not now. Who are the other possibilities that Crawford could be moving towards immediately? -Teofimo (I hope not. Even though I wouldn't mind Crawford just slapping him for his clownlike behavior lately) -Tim Tszyu (his original target when moving up to the division) -Jaron Ennis (turned down the fight twice, but now claims Crawford "fears" the match up) Who do you think is in the works? Or is he just choosing to sit?
i'd like to see teofimo fight crawford. the build up would be entertaining. i've picked against teofimo before and he proved me wrong. this time around, if lopez vs crawford happens, i'd probably pick lopez to win by descicion.
ortiz. thats the fight turki wants. i think bud feels ortiz is easy based on his last outing. and if turki wants to throw money at him cause he wants to see it, squeeze all the juice out. i want that fight myself.
Winner of Tszyu Bakhram, but Turki said he wasn't negotiating with Tszyu anymore. That tells me if Tim wins a world title he's probably keeping it in the circle and going after the winner of Spence/Fundora. Crawford doesn't have many options outside of Vergil Ortiz. That fight can be made easily
Lopez doesn't beat Crawford. The build wouldn't be entertaining, it would probably just be more racial banter and disrespect with Lopez trying to half quote some individual he just read about prior to the interview. Teo needs to be fighting Keyshawn Davis, or Tank, or Haney, or Shakur, or Ryan, etc.....too many options in his own division of individuals who actually called him out for him to be worrying about a guy 2 divisions up on his way out the door of the sport.
Vergil avoided Crawford twice already. I don't think that fight happens. I actually forgot about Vergil. He was Crawford's mandatory for almost 2 years. Top Rank attempted to negotiate and Vergil's reps decided to go another direction, yet Oscar kept claiming Vergil was ready for anybody.
I mean....he's 36/37 years old. He has accolades that already put him in the HOF......why would the bag be a priority. People say that like it's a bad thing. It's like y'all want him to get hit repeatedly so he can sound like Jame Toney immediately after. I honestly think he spent too much of his career under Top Rank. Yea, it allowed him to get the titles in his division, but the marketing for him was trash under TR. Their priority was Manny (while he was there), Loma, & Fury.... Often times, even when they switched over to ESPN, you wouldn't see advertisement for a Crawford fight until the week of. Unless you are a diehard of Bud....he was easily forgotten about until he was getting in the ring. What he was able to accomplish in the build up for Spence and Madrimov would have made his career more "sexy" in the eyes of fans.
Ennis should have already moved up. He's down in the 47lb division fighting lightweights moving into the division, but claim he's bigger and stronger than the elites. I think if he was to move up to 154lbs, the fight would be made, but he and his camp have already said they are currently focusing on getting the titles at 147 for now. I wish the Brian Norman fight would have came to fruition. I think that would have been an interesting bout for both of them.
It should be Virgil Ortiz. He didn't want Bud at 147 but Turki might convince him and Oscar now that Crawford is pushing 38 and Madrimov made him look more beatable than before. He also holds the WBC interim belt so that might give Bud leverage to get the Fundora/Spence winner later on. Tim Tszyu may well pick up his second loss in a row next week, so there's no point discussing him.
If he won't get Canelo fight I believe that he will take the Charlo fight. He is the WBA mandatory and the lineal champion. it's a fight that can sell and bring him $$$
I'd like to see him fight Ortiz, Fundora (assuming the WBC belt doesn't get stripped) and then finish with the winner of next Saturday's fight. Would be cool to see him become undisputed in a third weight class. I'd hate for him to fight Canelo because it'd be a damn shame to see such a talented dude pick up his only loss just because he jumped up two weight classes for a huge payday. Wouldn't blame him at all for it, gotta make as much money as you can when you can, would just be a shame, in my opinion.
Crawford ducking the slender man?? Waiting around begging for the Canelo “PeyDey” He might as well just fight Connor McGregor & cash out.
