No disrespect to Froch, but lets be honest....

He doesnt pull the trigger like he used to. Antonio Tarver even pointed out that Kess now "pushes" his right hand out, as opposed to a few years ago where it just snapped out quickly. Thats the sign of a diminished fighter. Now it was understandable vs an elusive target like Ward, but vs Froch there were times when Froch was WIDE OPEN for the right hand, and Kess just didnt let it go. Classic sign of a diminished fighter.

And PLEASE dont come back with any BS about Froch being elusive or something, because he's not.

Based on last night, in what way do you think Kessler has slipped? Speed? Power? Stamina?

Just wondering cos I thought he looked as good as ever. He surprised me last night, especially with his heart and stamina.

I'm British not American I'm not here for an argument and an "I just owned you thread"

I also have noticed this but I would put an argument to you that since calzaghe in 2007 kessler fought three nobodies then ran into an olyimpic gold medalist and outstanding talent

could this not be a case of ring rust combined with lack of motivation? He looked better last night than I've seen him in years and I'm still not sure I agree with you that mikkel is past his best!

    Peace

I love how Froch discredited his hometown win vs Dirrell by even mentioning that had his fight with Kessler been in his hometown he would have got the nod. Such hypocrisy

As someone else said it seems he has lost a bit in sharpness and fluidity, but gained some grit. He has never needed grit before because he was so superior.

So when he needed grit against Calzaghe for example, it wasnt really there to be found.

Against Ward he has said that he was demotivated and tired of boxing. Even before the Ward fight he said that he just looked forward to having the fight over and going on holiday.

It sure looks like he has gotten som motivation back.

    Yeah, this was horrible thinking.

Almost everyone in the world (even the majority of Brits) had it for Kessler - so Kessler didn't need any hometown cooking to win.

Now if Carl thinks he could still have gotten the W in Nottingham, then something is really wrong with Nottingham. Unclever.

Whats with the comparisons, the fight happened, its done, and there is not time machine to get a 3yr younger kess vs froch rematch

Just heat of the moment that I think. I daresay when he watches the fight he'll agree it was a fair result.

I agree that Kessler looks a little past his best. He's slowed slightly and doesn't snap out his shots as much, particularly the right hand which he used sparingly and which lacked some of the sharpness it used to have. Don't get me wrong, he's still a very good fighter and i wouldn't say he is miles past his best or anything but he's not quite as sharp and fluid a boxer as he once was.

Only due to the fact that he lost, if he had got the nod yet again, he would still be the same arrogant *******
