That comment from Mayweather is further proof that the majority(specifically Pacquiao fans) started following the sport in 2012. Mayweather made that exact same remark to gain publicity before fighting De La Hoya. He just did the same and the majority(temporary newbies) are crying about it like he never did before.

I love Floyd and think we can put him up there as an ATG.
However let's look at Ali and what he did. From 1960 until 1981 he fought and beat the best over 2 complete decades,fighting some guys 2 or 3 times and sure he got the benefit of a dodgy decision or 2 but the man absolutely ducked no one.
There's just no one you can think from those 2 era's who he could have fought but didn't.
I mean Frazier x3, Norton x3, Liston x 2, Quarry x2, Patterson x2, Bugner x2, Foreman, Shavers, Lyle, Bonavena,Young and Holmes, amongst many others.

 

Ali is overrated, people give him more credit because they feel it's the thing to do.

There are fighters from over the years who have surpassed him.

It's only because of the drama outside of the ring that Ali is considered some untouchable record.

Not even a fan of Floyd, but anyone with sense can see that his accomplishments have already succeeded Ali

Its not about him saying hes the best its about him being a disrespectful coward and trying to knock another fighters career. You simply dont do it. Sure us as fans can go back and forth because thats just part of being a fan but as a fellow fighter its just classless.

Ali lost 3 of his last 4 fights at a time he had no business being in the ring. Ali only lost two fights in his career and that was a split decision to the tough as nails Ken Norton and the first Frazier fight after a 3 year lay off. Ali couldve concievably finished his career 56-0 if he had both those fights go his way and he had retired after the Ernie Shavers fight.

 

Alis losses are better than any of floyds wins.:bbb

This mayweather man has lost more of my respect. Hes certainly not top P4P at the moment.
