Taking 9 rounds to KO a Euro level guy like Smith who was tailor made for him.... doesn't bode well for Canelo and his eventual move to MW, it showed his lack of power once again, he was the far bigger man that night and he literally hit Smith with the kitchen sink over and over and over and over again until he finally cracked. Most the MW's won't just stand there like a tree waiting to be chopped down, they're far more skilled than Beefy and can take a punch better. Canelo is still screwed.:deal:

While I agree with your intial post in the main, I reckon that Canelo could still cherrypick a bunch of guys for a while and look good, even at 160. You know, a defense at 154 against a no hoper. Then two fights to get "acclimatised" to 160 and maybe a third "tune up" while making dire threats to GGG all the way. That would get him all the way to end 2018 without facing a live body. And while hoping Golovkin becomes old. The only question is how long can he do this before the fans realise they are being duped and his ppv numbers tank?

Lemieux KTFO by Jr.MW Rubio, Geale KTFO by Jr.MW Cotto, Rubio ktfo by a JrMW, Curtis Stevens ktfo by a Jr.MW, Matthew Macklin ktfo by a Jr.MW, Gabriel Rosado ktfo by a Jr.MW...

I'm supposed to be impressed with Golovkin's opposition?? Made up of Certified china chinned fighters who have gotten KTFO by smaller men?

You think its just a coincidence don't you? Lol you would

I don't give a damn whether or not you're impressed with GGG's opposition or not, this thread has nothing to do with GGG's opposition.

And if you think his opposition is china chinned...... stop watching boxing. Sometimes fighters get stopped, and sometimes fighters have glass jaws, there is a difference.

Khan and Kirkland are hurt by or KO'd every time they step up.

Rubio took the bombs of Kelly Pavlik for 10 rounds without going down, and bombs from SMW Anthony Dirrel without going down, let's see Khan and Kirkland try that.

Its possible, but the way a lot of Canelo's fans are reacting to his recent cherry picking and cowardice, the loons on this site notwithstanding, I don't think they'll continue to shell out cash for much longer, especially against subpar LMW's and gatekeepers at MW. They'll forced ODLH's hand.

Seems he will be able to do this for some time - live attendance was pretty good even if PPV was average
