I don't see Canelo as being that weak. I think he'd be one of the top dogs at MW, even if GGG beats him like a drum. Say top 5. I do agree that there are several guys that Golovkin beat that trample through Canelo's resume though.:good

Well Written article Mate....Think Canelo at Middleweight will be in the Top 5 or 6.....but Fighters like Lemieux... Jacobs and Saunders will all give him real Competition in my opinion...Canelo is a Big Boy fighting little Fighters....It's now time to step up and Fight the Bigger Boy's.!!!!

    Very good read.
    :good

I agree with most of what you wrote, although I do think you were maybe being a bit harsh on Canelo's rise, even if I effectively agree with what you were getting at.

    Thanks Rummy:thumbsup

And yeah when I read it back I felt I went a little overboard, a little too mean, also I didn't intend when I started this to write War & Peace on Canelo but... I tend to get carried away.

Oscar De La Hoya lost six, arguably more times and he just kept getting bigger and bigger checks. Canelo is still young enough to lose big fights and get other big fights. ****ing Khan is a great example of this. He lost to Prescott, Peterson, Garcia and he just gets more and more popular. Manny Pacquiao lost six times and is one of the biggest superstars ever. Orlando Salido lost 13 times and his reputation continues to grow. Arturo Gatti lost 9 times but retired a star because like Salido he was so damn fun to watch. Didn't Trinidad get paydays against guys like Mayorga after Bernard beat him? I think Canelo will be fine.

There isn't one fighter GGG has beat that 'tramples' through Canelos resume. Let us not forget what happened to Danny Geale against Cotto.

I think I had Trout by one round or the whole fight a draw:huh
I also felt Lara lost to Big Red

Other than what I just posted above I can't disagree with you Chris:hey

I had lots of love for Canelo years ago but he or maybe GBP slowly changed my view of him based on hand picked fighters.

If Kirkland had stuck with Wolfe he might have had a chance to really hurt Canelo. Oscar and the insiders knew Kirkland had discipline issues and had also walked away from Wolfe when they sent him the offer. Kirkland threw a team together, if I am not mistaken, just prior to training camp:roll:

GGG will be tested with Canelo and I expect a good, fun fight from them but in the end GGG wins late TKO:hi:

    Nice write up CST:happy

Wolfe could never change his chin but she always had him at another level and a more defensive mind until you found his chin:dead

His conditioning was very poor without her:deal

Let's say for fun GGG agrees to 157 I would bet the house Canelo shows up over the limit anyway because he knows in the end he is going to lose anyway:deal

Canelo always looks like a dead man walking when he cuts weight and I think that at 155 or 160 once he faces GGG he goes to sleep:dead

Yes he's had his share of small fry's, but truth is, a fighter like Lara or Trout, and a legend like Mayweather, EVERYONE, not just Canelo, is going to look average. Hell, I'd pick Lara to beat the majority of 160lbers with the exception of Ggg, and even with the mighty Ggg, there's a growing group of non believers that think Ggg is ducking Lara. So no, I don't believe Canelo is taking any easy routes as some have suggested. Jacobs, Saunders, and the rest are good fighters, but they've lost to fighters that aren't even on Canelo's level. There is a reason these champions haven't faced Lara either. Canelo faced and beat the most avoided fighter in the 154-160 range in Lara, I don't see Jacobs, Saunders, or even Ggg in a hurry to face him.

Who did Saunders lose to? And Pirog was at worst on Canelo's level.

Thanks Jay:good For all the nice compliments, I appreciate them, especially the 110% one.:D

I agree with you actually, I had Canelo winning the Lara match as well, but there is a lot of debate on this site about who the real winner was, and it not like Canelo looked good in beating Lara even though personally I thought he edged it.

So mid 30's qualifies as old now? Mother****er you're probably older than I am. It takes years for a guy to get as bitter and jaded as you sound.

You're a salty bitter ******* who clearly has no life either, due to the fact that your hatred for one man is so strong that when you chose to sign up on a website you come up with a ****ing moniker for the sole purpose to mock him. Now that's ****ing sad. I mean there's a lot of fighters I dislike immensely but it never even crossed my mind to base my entire identity on a website around them.

These articles are not particularly hard for me to write or come up with, just because you lack the ability to be as thorough, eloquent and insightful as I am with anything that you post don't take it out on me.
