No excuses after the fight: Official is shane shot or not?!

not shot as in

cant take hits and is useless now

he just has deteriorated with age

think of it this way, he used to be an 8/9 out of 10 boxer but now is 6/7

he has lost head and foot movement. throws far less combo hits and has lost some hand speed. he is more of a power puncher now

 

I didn't answer the poll, because the question is too "black and white".

Here is the deal:

If Floyd shuts Shane out in a manner in which he completely outboxes him and Shane looks off balance and lost the entire fight
Then it can be reasonably argued that stylistically Floyd could beat any version of Shane.

If Floyd wins a tight decision, in a fight Shane successfully makes a dogfight and is able to get to Floyd
Then it is reasonable to believe that the Shane that fought Oscar in the 1st fight would beat Floyd.

If Floyd loses to Shane in ANY manner
Then it is pretty much decided that the Shane that fought Oscar in the first fight would destroy Floyd and Floyd's standing takes a HUGE hit.



Because Shane IS NOT shot by any means at all, but he also not as good as he was.

 

He performed really well his last fight. Before that he struggled with mayorga but he aint "shot"

Shot is when you are getting your ass beat by guys you would toy with in your prime. Its Roy Jones getting KTFO and Tyson getting stopped by Kevin mcbride and danny williams.

No one can say that Mosley is still in his top form or his prime, no 38 year old welterweight is thats just silly. But there is no way you can argue that he is not in the top 3 welterweights in the world and has the claim to being the top welterweight in the world.

Oh and I dont want to hear any **** about Mosley having two losses to Winky at 154. There is not a single welterweight in the world right now who would beat that Winky at 154 and I believe that holds true for Margo and Williams as well.

They are already starting on that **** now, first it was Floyd will never fight Mosley and if he does that it would be huge. Now that the fight is signed Mosley is old and no good. And Im not just talking about ESB but my old man was talking the same ****. Those that hate Floyd arent going to give him any credit no matter what. He can beat Mosley and Pac but it will be oh he ran or oh he cheated or whatever other excuses they come up with after he beats the guys they claimed he would never fight.

 

the only way to tell if he's shot is if he loses to floyd and then goes onto lose to an even lesser fighter.

 

When Winky beat Mosley, I truelly believe he was p4p the hardest to beat in the sport, and arguablly the least vulnerable. He wasn't the most dynamic, exciting or versatile by any means. But what he did, he did EXTREMELY well and nobody from 154 and below from the past 20 years could beat him. That's just my opinion

 

bull**** williams always loses to pwilly type of fighters, hopkins used a similar tactic too and spanked that ass and made him cry.

 

Hopkins called Winky up to Light Heavywight to fight him. Winky was best at Lt Middle and still the best Middleweight when he was actively fighting there, he spanked Taylor's ass and got ROBBED. He was also beating Hopkins until he clearly gassed and got outworked.

Williams beat Winky, but there were times where it was evident that Winky was the more skilled boxer, he just didn't do **** in that fight. He had NO footwork and zero activity.

Couldent say, he looked great against Margarito but we won't know how the 1 yr layoff will effect him untill the fight.

 

Shane isn't a shot fighter by any means. But I don't see him as being close to 'Prime', no matter w/c way i look at it. The fight's still a 50/50 match, IMHO.
