Nobody Can bring up this Sergio Martinez leg was messed up bull****... To be honest if pacquiao or mayweather went up to 160 and beat Sergio people would be acting like the world was ending (the way sergio looked last night or cotto made him look, my guess is floyd and pac could ahve got the victory also). If either of the two got the victory nobody would be making these bull**** ass leg excuses except for haters...People would be saying the victory makes Floyd/Pacquiao up there amongst the best boxers of all time. all praise due to cotto. The one guy that had enough testicular fortitude to go up a weight class and take the risk. It pays off nicely. A nice HOF quality win for the resume. :hi:
thats my thing though... you can't really knock it. Hurt leg or not. If floyd or pacquiao beat martinez people would be saying that pacquiao/floyd are top 5 of all time with the victory.... regardless of sergio's leg cotto damn near the same size of them. He's just a little more hearty

Exactly, people already calculated in Martinez injuries and I saw no one giving Martinez 100%, yet, they still predicted a stupendously easy win for Martinez. Now they wanna go back and recalculate Martinez at 0% to 20% for a no, to very little credit Cotto win...shamefully weak.
Not knocking Cotto at all. It's not Cotto's fault. Cotto's the freakin man. Respect that guy. When Cotto stopped Yuri Foreman, I gave credit, I was like damn dude looked impressive. But in that fight I gave credit to both guys, I said "darn Yuri Foreman, dude is lightning fast and gave Cotto all he could handle for 6 rounds before he got hurt". And Foreman still fought on despite the knee injury and it was an epic finish. In this case though, Martinez knew he was injured going into the fight and clearly just wanted a payday. Cotto did whoop that ass. Martinez is done. All I'm saying is lets call a freakin spade a spade. DiBella was lying through his teeth. Martinez didn't want to use the knees as an excuse. That's commendable, but it would have been more commendable had he not wasted all of our time when he knew he had little to no chance to win. It reminded me of David Haye vs Wlad, you know? That didn't tarnish Wlad's legacy, he had no idea Haye had a broken toe and that he'd show the toe after the fight. I'm an equal opportunity BS caller. I call out stuff when it's clear that the fans are being lied to.
Cotto beat his ass badly. It wasn't that his legs were weak because of past injuries, its that they were weak because his ass was getting drilled and his equilibrium was getting buzzed with most of the shots Cotto was landing. It was ridiculous.

This was not Yuri moment, in that fight you could see Yuri not able to stand precisely because of knee, matter of fact, that fight could be seen as evidence what a true knee factor looks like. Never was there even buckling of any knee in the Martinez fight. And saying a fighter only won because his opponent was worthless gimp is not respecting him.
It was well known that Martinez was past it anyway as Cotto is past it too. However, it's very clear that Martinez is beyond done with in this fight. This isn't the Martinez that fought Williams x2, Pavlik and Chavez. Martinez' injuries weren't bull**** and everyone knew about them way before the fight, which explains his over a year of inactivity leading up to this fight. You're a fan of Williams as I am a fan of Williams too(though a bigger fan of Martinez here) and it's understandable to see you excited about this win. I see a lot of Pavlik fans celebrating this win too and that's understandable as well, same with Chavez fans. No offense but overlooking Martinez' injuries and complete lack of serious effort(we all know and remember how prime Martinez was fierce in the ring) is plain childish.
