He was one of the cagiest fighters ever and if you don't have a right hand to make him worry, he would have no problem slipping Oscar's jab to get inside, circling to his (Duran's) left the whole night and absolutely tattoo Oscar.

And I picked the wrong choice in the poll. My bad.

DLh would probably fight him like he fought Trinidad for 10 rounds. I say DLH finds similar success that Leonard found in the rematch.

    LOL.

    Sure he would.

Because Trinidad and Duran are comparable.

Holy ****? The god known as Roberto Duran losing a boxing poll on ESB? This is the first fight I've seen Duran lose a fictional matchup since someone posted Ali vs Duran. Hell he lost to Hearns and people still say Duran would have beat Hearns.

It's not that they are comparable, but WTF would DLH NOT choose to fight him from a distance???

I'm sure he wouldn't make the same mistake Leonard made in the first fight.

As much as I am an Oscar Fan I think Duran takes this in a very close decisions. I can not see Duran KO Oscar because of Oscar's granit chin. Duran is a top five ATG and is just a little bit too much for Oscar.

Please, this is a man against a boy. DLH isn't even in Durans class. Duran is an all time great with a resume' that puts Oscars to shame. The Golden boy was lucky 15 round fights were gone by the time he came around. Oscar struggled to go 12.The guys that Duran beat like Dejesus, Lampkin, Palomino, Leonard, and Buchanan totally blow away Quartey(another guy with stamina problems), the steroid ridden, glass jawed Vargas,or Ruelas.Oscar was lucky to get the decision over Whitaker, ran like a theif against Tito, and rightly lost against Mosely. One of the biggest differences between Oscar and Roberto is that Duran brought his power up with him , and Oscar lost his as he went up in weight. Can you imagine Oscar beating an Iran Barkley?
Even if I chewed peyote buttons, I couldn't hallucinate DeLaHoya beating Duran.

Well Duran did beat SRL who I think is a step or two above DLH. However SRL also fought Duran's fight and I dont think DLH would do that.

Still though with DLH having close fights with Mosley I think Duran beats him in a fair decision but I dont see Duran KOing him, DLH has a good chin and will use his boxing skills to make it competitive.

DLH never really gets hurt or stopped besides Hopkins and that was sort of a strange incident. Yeah Pac beat the **** out of him but we are talking primes in this scenario and if anything that pac fight atleast proves DLH's chin is solid.

DLH is naturally a bit larger than Chavez though.

Duran wins this by a lopsided decision. At least 4 rounds if this is a 15 round fight.

If this is a twelve round fight, it becomes abit closer but still a UD.

Duran had solid, heavy hands, craftiness and good skillset.

I just can't see Oscar handling him very well as he is a very good boxer but NOT the same kind of slickster that SRL was.

Lionel, one day you are going to post a thread on who wins between Gatti and Duran, and you will almost convince a few posters to vote for Gatti just like James Earl Jones almost convinced Arnold in Conan the Barbarian...that he was his father and that if he died, the world ends..., and then your post will get chopped up just like J.E.J head did when Conan cut if off and threw it down those steps lol...

If Dlh fought Duran at 147, Duran would eat Dlh alive. This vendetta you have against Duran won't change his standing as one of the very best who ever lived. Threads like this would make us belittle Dlh if anything...
