Now there is no doubt about his status, he beat a fighter who is on top! To say that Hatton is shot is unfair. I have been harsh to Pac lately, but I believe he was the better man tonight. Fair and square.
To say he was a shot fighter is not fair ,but at the same time he was stopped by Floyd in Dec. of 2007 which backs up the claim of him being diminished. A fighter like Hatton who is all out aggression who depends on his chin had to have lost something in that fight with Floyd. No matter what. Once a man is knocked out it is much easier to knock him out again.
Pac has always been so severely underrated on ESB that it turned me into a what some people consider a *******. I hope now, his abilities will get the credit they deserve. The man is the best fighter since RJJ, and now even that could be up for debate. We'll see when they both retire.
Pac was knocked out twice early in his career. Hasn't been knocked out since. Barrera was knocked out by Pac in 2003, hasn't been knocked out since. The list could go on and on. Tszyu knocked out Judah, yet PBF did not, even though he fought him later.
Rubbish, people think Hatton's chin problems came after his defeat to Floyd. Do people forget featherfisted Collazo had Hatton rocked pre-PBF, Pac is on a different level to Collazo.
Fair play Pac was brilliant last night. But where the hell was the strategy for Ricky?? Every single time he came in he got picked off. Where was the head movement, the speed the new skills? I think Hattons punch resistance has all but gone, he was rocked from the 1st clean shot. And the sky commentator said something about him doing pad work on an orthodox stance. Why the **** was mayweather doing that?? Terrible KO, i was really worried for Hatton at 1st, i think he should call it quits and retire for his own good.
pac was stoped on body shots, thats not the same as being koed to the head.pbf had judah on the way out before the low blow.thats what saved him, read behind lines.:deal
No excuses? Ridiculous. By definition, a big fight has to be followed by many excuses. Otherwise, Pac's win is void.
urango-pacquiao...that maybe for the 147 title...how about chavez-pacquiao for the vacant 154 abc title...
People always come up with excuses - I've heard people try to down-grade Duran's win over Leonard and Ali's win over Foreman (because the losers "fought the wrong fight") so it can't come as a surprise. I always prefer to give praise to the victor and in last night's case all the praise Pac is getting is richly deserved.
OK, what about MAB who was stopped by JJ and came back to have a war with Morales taking in hellacious shots? How about Kostya who was stopped previously and came back to take hell from hatton. Punch resistance doesnt go down from 1 KO loss...if he was shot maybe, but he was prime. His win over Mallignaggi is as impressive as any post Zoo.
Pac status should never be doubted I've been saying he's p4p no.1 for years (even when PBF was fighting). He's beaten legends. Hatton wasn't shot but he's looked unimpressive in a number of fights lately and has always had faults that Pac could possibly exploit. I picked Hatton to win but if you think about it hattons never been the hardest to hit, he's been wobbled a few times and Pac has always been lightening quick with serious power.
