I picked Fury by decision. I did not expect this. All credit to the guy. He's the best HW in the world, and we need to see Fury/Joshua.
I thought Fury was gonna bore this out like the Wlad fight but he took it to Wilder and absolutely annihilated him.. Much credit to the Fury one excellent decision to change trainers that encouraged better offensive decisions..
I'm a Wilder fan and this fight was painful for me to watch. Fury was the boss from the opening bell. Deontay can't change too much at this point in his career. His corner failed him tonight. He had no new wrinkles at all. Let's hope we don't have to see this again.
He's 34. Probably not going to change too much. He came to rely on his power. Tyson smothered that power and made Wilder fight moving backwards. Smart and skillful by Fury. Credit where credit is due.
As a Wilder fan, I was very very disappointed in Team Wilder. They had no gameplan at all other than thinking this fight would be a continuation of round 12. Poor work in the corner, too. But I give them credit for throwing in the towel. It was merciful.
