No fighter can be at his best at 35 and over. It's biologically impossible.

We both agree that "prime" Floyd wouldn't beat Canelo.

The Floyd that did beat Canelo is the best Floyd I've seen.

I'd favour that Floyd over Corrales and Castillo in a heartbeat.

perhaps he was just another phelps, and if he would never have stopped training he could have shattered every record in every event he competed in at the age of 28. winning at 35 doesnt mean he got better than he could have been at 28, it just means he didnt compete at his absolute physical prime but was still good enough to win even past his prime.

Yes , now they are because of Fed, Djoker, Murray and Nadal, but it's never been like this before. Historically, it's a young mans game. Question is why now? an argument can be made that these guys are ATG's and all playing in same era, but it would be naive to not even question it.

Of course which is why guys have suddenly found their balls to face him but it's ok,it only evens it up some against a guy who doesn't know how to lose.
Guess we're all wondering how Canelo will take a punch at this weight?

There's a difference between an athlete being able to perform great things past 35 v being the very best version of themselves past 35

Couple things that need to be addressed here I think:

27 - 29 maybe 30 is the peak of the physical skills.

However, lets say you started boxing at a late age like Ruenrog (age 27), your peak will be much later than if you started at 6 years old.

However, I personally believe that if you started out the womb, your peak would probably be at 28 years old or so... If you started just a little bit later, peaking at 33 or 34 would be believable. After 33 and 34 the drop off on things start to actually become measureable.. such as reflex, explosiveness.

8 pages of non sense lol.
I got more chicks at 40s than I was in my 20s.
Is that mean I'm performing better?

Dude, Amnat Ruenroeng was a Muay Thai champion years before he was a boxing champion. They start those kids thai kickboxing at 12 years old and they have hundreds of fights by the time they are 20. In fact, I think most of the champions at Lumpinee Stadium (basically the world title) are in the 18-20 area.

I mean, the featherweight champ Panpayak Jitmuangnon is 21, has been fighting for 11 years, is 220-36-3, and was fighter of the year for three years already.

My point is that Ruenroeng had ample experience kickboxing when he started regular boxing.
