Fuggitabout it;I saw most of Ali's fights from ListonI(2-25-64) thru Zora Folley(3-22-67/see boxrec.com for list).Some of Ali's 64-67 opponents could've been competitive at cruiserweight;none of 'em would be considered a threat to win the heavyweight title today-including Ali(okay,I'm not an Ali fan-just shoot me).Ali's only modern big heavyweight opponent was Ernie Terrell(heightwise)-and he makes Lennox Lewis "look like Ali."

 

Possibly Roy Jones Jr. would give him a run possibly. This is because of his speed and would half to fight totally defensively. This fight a hw version of pernell vs oscar. And possibly Fraizier and Tyson in 86-89. A swarmer such as Tyson with the speed and power (Kevin Rooney in corner) tough match for ali. But in all realness if it goes to cards Ali gets decision.

I agree. Holmes's jab would give Ali fits, but IMO Ali edges it out by about a round or two. Fraziers pressure definately gets to Ali, along with the left hook slowing him up, but Ali would have raked up enough rounds by the time Frazier starts taking control to win the fight.

 

The only way Marciano can do it is if he has enough behind his punches to KO Ali. Marciano would never win on points.

I prefer to answer this inquiry this way. On any given day, the best fighter can loose. If you were to say could Ali at his best, beat any heavyweight in history at that fighters best, it is fair to say yes!

When you think of Ali's assets as a fighter, he had lots of all-around ability. He had good size, fast, hard to hit, took a good shot when he got hit, stamina, heart, confidence, durable. The guy had it all.

 

Are you kidding me!!! You just can't be serious. And this is as Swede asking you this. Ali actually sparred with Johansson in the early 60's, years before he became champion, and made a fool of him. It would be a miracle if Johansson even went the distance with Ali in his prime.
