No hate. I just cannot see how Floyd is greater than Morales

Erik Morales and FLoyd Mayweather Jr are in 2 totally different stratospheres.

And that's no disrespect to a first ballot HOF'er like Morales, but there's no argument you can make for him being superior to the best fighter of his era and a guy whose been universally recognized as a top 10 P4P fighter since 1998. He's closing in on 20 years as a P4P stalwart.

Floyd's longevity now is making me re-think where I rank him on the ATG list. IMO he's at least hovering around where Whitaker is. His dominance into his late 30's is separating him from a lot of the ATG's of the past.

Mayweather's not as good as the 3rd best Mexican lightweight (Marquez, Barrera) of his area?

    Brilliant.

Floyd was on the ropes several times in that fight and Pac backed off of him. How do you explain that? Floyd gave Pac his opportunities in that fight but Pac didn't take them for some reason. Everyone knows how Floyd fights. It was Pac's job to make him change his style, like Maidana did. Pac wasn't willing to pay the price to make Mayweather change. The fight wasn't a shut-out but Pac didn't win any more than three rounds at best. The fact that you say that Mayweather has an "unofficial" loss to JLC makes you either in denial or a hater, despite what you say. I can say that Pac has two additional "unofficial" losses to Marquez but that would just make me in denial or a hater also. Just accept that Mayweather is currently the best, whether you like him or not, and move on.

I have never understood this. I don't like Wlad but I can admit he's the best HW in the world and no one can beat him and move on. I don't spend my time in his threads bashing him and his fans. PBF haters are just on another level of hate.

Pac thought he won the fight because Floyd was mostly on the back foot (sprinting on one occasion:D) and initiated all but one of the clinches.

When Floyd's dad told him he was fighting scared and to get more aggressive, Floyd made a coupe of efforts at being the come-forward guy, tasted Pac's power, and quickly reverted to his earlier (winning) strategy of pot-****ting from a distance.

Despite what Pac thought, I scored the bout 8-4 to Floyd in a pretty clear win for him.

    Regarding Erik, I'm a fan.

I'm not a fan of Floyd, though I like watching him box, as he is the best boxer of this era.

But as to which of Floyd or Erik is the greater boxer, it's not remotely close.

Both are ATGs, but Floyd is probably inside the top 20 while Erik might be somewhere inside the top 100.

I don't understand it either. Some of these guys actually have a personal dislike or hate of Mayweather and only know about him through being a boxing fan. I agree with you about Klitschko. I find him boring and robotic but he is clearly the best heavyweight out there and I am not going to waste my time bashing him and I certainly don't have anything personal against him. Some of the stuff that goes on on this site indicates to me that some posters don't have a lot else going on in their life and that is sad.

Morales did some great things like when he was washed up but still managed to beat the **** out of Dapidran. But he is nowhere near Floyd's level.

Mayweather's victory over Pacquiao is not even close to his best win/performance.

Don't know why it's being talked bout so much in this thread.

I'll take the guy who beats Prime Pacquiao and put him in the same league as Floyd who's best win is Corrales.

LMAO. Pacquiao was coming off his demolition of Barrera and fought a draw with the prime ATG Marquez before those fights.

Morales has by far the most respected victory over Pacquiao.

Too bad for you your opinion is irrelevant.:deal Boxers and historians have already put him ahead. Look at the Ring Magazine's best 20 fighters since WW2 PBF was #12 while EM wasn't even ranked and neither was #48 for that matter.:hi:

And had that version of #48 faced the 130 pound PBF he would have been exposed and taken apart. #48 back then was a one dimensional and flawed fighter. He was basically one handed and way more reckless.
