https://imgur.com/gallery/Hsn8S My breakdown on the best heavyweight fight since Joshua vs Klitschko. Hope you all enjoy it.
Also, glad you showed that short counter right that hurt Ortiz initially in the 10th. Every now and then, Wilder manages to do something very well, even brilliantly, and that makes him a really dangerous guy to face.
Yeah, just like last fight, he had the straightest right hand lead I've ever seen... then it kind of goes downhill LOL. If he can keep showing flashes of great technique, he'll be one tough man to beat.
All he often needs is to do the right thing at the right time ONCE and the fight is over. Freakish power. Reminds me a bit of Bob Foster.
He does vary the trajectory on that right hand quite well. It's not windmilling 100 percent of the time.
Yeah, he's operating in rare air when it comes to power-punching. Current occupants in that space include the likes of Foster, Shavers and...not many more.
I think his erratic tendencies just get the best of him when he gets the guy hurt, he does that windmilling thing because of his killer instinct and all "proper" punching technique flies out the window. I think he's been taught for years that once he gets a guy hurt, just keep throwing until they break down. It seems to be working for him as he's gotten some a few stoppages with it, but who knows if that will bite him in the rear one day.
Great breakdown. But I wish you had showed that sequence where each guy throws a six punch combination and every punch by both guys misses by a mile. They replayed it during the fight in slow motion and it was crazy.
The Morrison left hook, Razor Ruddock "smash", David Tus left hook, those are a few. I've watched Ruddock live and when he landed the "smash" it was very audible in a strange booming way. This content is protected This content is protected
