I just wanted to make this thread so I can bump it when the time is right!:hey Kovalev vs Ward not happening in 2016. With the months it takes Roc Nation to pick their man up (they bought him) and get a fight signed and the wheels of progress rolling!:think Time and time again Ward has pulled out of fights while being very difficult to work with. But were supposed to believe he now is just going to jump from one fight to another without making a stink about something.:tired There is no chance this fight happens in 2016, none! :verysad
Of course it won't happen this year. Anyone who believed that November date must be smoking meth. It's difficult to even predict the month of 2017. Perhaps in Q1 or Q2.
Probably KOvalev-Ward will happen in about a year, around March 2017. Ward will take on a different boxer in the fall. Meanwhile I wonder who Kovalev will be fighting next? I hope it's not Shabranskyy, who would be for a better fall opponent for Ward.
Of course he's difficult to work with, he has a tattoo of his own name :rofl The fight will happen though, but yeah, probably not this year.
Did anyone think for a thousandth of a second this fight was possible for 2016 ??? Who took your helmet off ?
Kovalev vs Ward isn't even a PPV fight. So why rush to make this fight? Casual boxing fans don't even know who Sergey Kovalev is and they refer to Ward as that guy who fights in Oakland.
Boat loads of the vermin on this forum were saying it right after Ward signed the HBO deal. Oh he cant fight after June 2016 unless its Kovalev right Duva said?atsch What if he just doesn't want to fight, what are they going to do to him? Sedate him and wake him up during the introductions?:nut
according to rafael, the date is nov 19th with location tba. its probably going to happen because if either party backs out of the deal...its pretty much kiss of death for the promoter.
1 year and 2 days from the Cotto vs Canelo PPV event that Ward was supposed to be on until his knee inflamed.:think What happened to Alexander Brand? Did he go back to driving his cab in Colombia?
A good bet in the interim would be what body part he will injure in the next year or so. back muscle, hand, calf etc.
