    Round 8

González is getting tattooed with lead lefts and straight power flurries by Aokuso. González walking forward and getting his guard spread apart with quick shots, knuckles planted between his eyes. González undeterred, jabbing high and ploughing low with right hands but at best grazing when he can squeak through Aokuso's elbows. The cleanest González lands is after walking through hell to force a clinch and spanking the sides of Aokuso, who separates with a right hook tapping lightly on González's ear. The corner of Aokuso screaming at him to ramp it up and go for the stoppage but he's playing to protect the lead, it seems.

    10-9 Aokuso

    80-71 Aokuso

7 - 1 Aokuso. Best one two landed for Gonzales in the whole fight that won rnd 8 for him on my card. I think he stun Aokuso

There are a lot of real decent south paws out there.

Aokuso's skills made an instant fan of me over the first six rounds, but his weird reticence to engage in any risk-taking since then has me starting to sour on him already...

Aokuso got skills but the constant freezing and looking away is such a douche look

Aokuso is so much faster and better boxer than Gonzales. When he lets his hands go he easily lands. No idea why he hasn't stepped on the gas and get Gonzales out of there

    Round 9

González is setting traps, jabbing the belly and then ducking over to his side and bouncing his upper half in the air before rising up with an overhand right. Aokuso just watching his antics, taking no bait, pot shotting with right jabs from a distance. Aokuso using constant movement, fresh as a daisy in round nine which is impressive but letting a man he dominated for five rounds and dropped in the sixth consistently walk him down without any effective punches - which is less impressive.

    10-9 Aokuso

    90-80 Aokuso

If Aokuso think he can make it to the top with these kind of antics, he's going to be in for a rude awakening.

His corner is yelling at him to cut the showboating. He's not focused.

Aukuso seems just too hesitant to take the lead, just wants to counter punch. Would like to see him play some offensive defense, instead of sitting and waiting half the rounds. He's boxing well but like, truly not very crowd friendly

To be fair he's never been more than 4.5 rounds before, but this seems more a mental block than anything, he isn't gassed in the least. So more just the moment/bright lights overwhelming him maybe?

Hell’s Kitchen as NRL’s Mark Geyer likes to call it. Lol. Never spoke to him but used to see him around in his more wild days.

Fought a 6’8” AFL player in a celebrity boxing match and emphatically levelled him. Mark admitted he was scared sh*t less when he first saw the fella in person (“Monk”?) that he was fighting.

Mark’s eyes were absolutely closed when he threw and landed the KO punch. Lol. The fight was still on YouTube last time I looked. Hard man Mark “Spud” Carroll was on the same card - but he actually got stopped by his smaller AFL counterpart.

    Bring back the BIFF!
