I'm quite impressed with Aokuso's skills for being 3-0, and especially considering the dearth of quality sparring to be found down under.

 

Round 4

Aokuso is getting very cute and fancy on González now, baiting him into the ropes with some lazy slow-down footwork and then almost seating his butt on the middle cable, allowing González to come in with a volley only to slip out the side door and pop him in the nose with a straight left hand rocket from the chest. Aokuso jabbing and toying with González from the outside, tickling his belly with long lead lefts. González getting annoyed and throwing some spears in pursuit but unable to solve for the quicker educated legs of his younger fresher and apparently cleverer opponent.

He's washed now but once upon a time (eight years ago to be precise) he was a real "somebody". Close loss to a not too far past prime Pascal, and then an even closer (MD) loss against then unbeaten Shabranskyy.

 

Round 5

González getting finessed, plain and simple. He's got no answers. Following, lunging, getting painted with the southpaw jab and touched with a smattering of whatever else Aokuso feels like sprinkling in. Halfway mark, youngster showing no signs of gassing although we've already past the farthest he's gone professionally to date. González not demonstrating any new ideas, which he sorely needs in the back half to not get shutout.

Picking up midway into round 6, pathetic. Did everybody in the home audience really need to hear every bland generic word the studio ghouls had to say hyping up the main event instead of just watching rounds 1-5?
