At least for the near term. Brook gets wrecked easy work. He cant hang with GGG's body shots. As Ive said before I was a number one GGG fan. I would tell people about his fights and how he was the ish. Now, its kinda meh. Brook gets splattered. After Brook, ..................... crickets. Eubank Jr and Saunders wont happen. Jacobs wont happen. That leaves us with Andy Lee and Quillin. Nobody wants to see them two coming off losses to fight the man of the division. GGG, ive realized, is waiting to cash out against Canelo. Which is fine from an economic sense but terrible for us fans. This will keep him from "officially" moving up to 168. Claims of fighting Degale at 168, yeah, ill see it when I believe it. I can see him fighting the Tureano Johnsons and Jorge Heilands of the division, extending his title defense record. But, this is no way to end a career man.
Hard to disagree with this, one can be excited at watching him but career wise you explained his problems, even if he moved up a weight who's to say he'd get top fights with De Gale and Badou Jack or Groves, theyed all duck him like Canelo,Jacobs and Saunders I reckon?
Bro you have over 600posts on this forum - do you actually not understand the politics of boxing at all? You realize that Degale, jack, and Jacobs are haymon fighters that will NEVER be allowed to fight on HBO?? Do you comprehend that? Same with Erislandy Lara. These fighters have some monetary value to Haymon and he'll never allow them to fight on HBO. Canelo and Saunders are clearly being lined up to fight each other. Neither is fighting GGG in the next 8 months. GGG has to stay busy somehow. Brook, Lee, Tuerano, Korobov are the only names to choose from. I don't hate that at all. Maybe after Ward gets destroyed by Kovalev his bargaining position will be weaker and he'll have to accept the fight! Hearn wouldn't have given up Kell for a beating if Eubank Jr wanted any part of this fight. Clearly they threw up every obstacle to prevent it.
Yes only the trolling idiots pretend not understand and go on about Lara ect and even claim based on Eubank jnr that GGG isn't being avoided as much as we think? The truth is that he is avoided and is feared by those in his division,I wasn't aware of what you said about De Gale,Jack n Jacobs which makes for moving up a division a worse place than where he is. The original poster on this thread is clearly a fan of GGG and I can totally understand where he's coming from about GGGs career, sure we can enjoy him but we'd enjoy him more against those nearest to him in the rankings, for what it's worth in GGGs case I think he's just to good and beats em all anyway. One final point, what if GGG was promoted by Hearns,Al Haymon or even Golden boy, with their financial clout would he have had these opponents by now?
I think about the promoter as well. If GGG had a bigger backing maybe they would get better comp in. but he's sticking with K2 and Tom Loeffler for now as he's stated in interviews.
I do. But he's so much better than the guys put in front of him. Can't really get excited about him ripping thru heiland in 5 rounds. I'm making the prediction now: GGG vs Heiland in December 2016
His career has been managed pretty poorly. He spent too long with Universum and they kept d*cking him around but he stuck with them when he should have been enforcing a mandatory position. Now he has Loeffler who is an sh*t. He could of unified by now if they gave BJS a similar deal to what they are giving Brook. Without a doubt if he had a better promoter at the start he would of been in bigger fights and may have been a multiple weight champ already. It kinda takes more than being a good fighter for it to happen you need a good promoter/manager. Unfortunately his legacy may be chalked up to what could if happener instead of what he accomplished. Hopefully he at least unifies and sets a ridiculous title defense record or at oeast becomes lineal at 2 weights.
Wade was a Haymon fighter fought GGG on HBO so is Khan who fought Canelo, the reason GGG isn't getting big fights is more due to him being cheap then being ducked. The dudes team basically said GGG don't make much money himself so if an opponent basically has to put up the money for the entire show or take a pay cut. For guys like Jacobs, Saunders I don't really think its a valid excuse, for big names though it is reasonable.
Oh FFS... K2 are giving nothing to Brook, it is Eddie Hearn / Matchroom promoting the show. They can give GGG near 5x his biggest payday ($10m) as will be on UK PPV. There is no way for GGG's team currently to raise anything like this kind of purse for other fighters. Same goes with BJS, he is with Frank ****** and has no way of accessing the PPV market.
Buck up, things aren't that dire, here check this thread out, maybe it'll perk you up.:thumbsup http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?t=567948
Sadly that reiterates part of my post. If you don't have the right promoter/manager it doesn't matter how good you are. You will not be able to get the right fights. Hopefullythis fight at leasts makes him a draw in the UK so they can get the money for a GGG-BJS fight.
yup but thats basically what acie was saying anyway....if you dont have that built in audience like brook...if you aint floyd, pac or canelo...or a guy like brook...its just not worth it a guy like lara would prob want between 1-1.5 mil to fight golovkin.....good fight to make right there....but hbo cant afford it....showtime can but ggg cant fight on showtime.....so where does that leave you? basically ggg has to keep fighting uk fighters...or bums
