Well, Foster never carried, at all, at heavyweight. He was such a badass at 175, it's strange to me that he was so poor coming up. RJJ, he knew the score. He was never fighting a guy like Lennox. Moorer at heavyweight and how he managed to do, well, he probably didn't have the mentality to stay dominant as much as any frame issue played into it. At light heavy, his run wasn't really as "the" champ, so his reign there, much as I appreciated him, I'm shrugging off a bit. His title wasn't regarded as major then either, though it is now. Moore and Marciano were pretty similar sized, actually, and he had a terrific run at heavy, up to that point, but wasn't able to win the title, let alone dominate as champ. Spinks is a tough call because he only had the one loss-to a monster, but he might as well have lost to Holmes in the rematch, I guess. Your point that size matters, it's obvious, which makes some of these guys' excursions up at heavyweight all the more impressive for their wins and all the more forgivable for their losses, no? But, look how much less we'd have to talk about if they didn't at least try, in the first place.
Yes....you got my point exactly Boxed Ears! I respect them for their attempts though. They had brave hearts even though they were a lot smaller than them. I also love those small heavyweights who could beat or KO bigger ooponents like Marciano, Patterson, and Tyson.
