I appreciate Bute has the tools to be the best at 168 but he isn't as of yet. I say Froch then Ward as the 1-2. Froch's resume is just stunning in the modern era.

I think this just further proves my point about the thread I did on the SMW division, what with Froch schooling AA as I predicted and with D Green beating B J Flores.

However you know I am a HUGE Froch fan but Ward would cause him issues with his third arm (head) so I would never choose a winner there. Bute though I think he'd beat easily Froch is a beast that Bute would struggle with (see Andrade 1).

    my 2 cents

The referee was an absolute disgrace in the Ward v Kessler fight. I'll not rate Ward til he fights a top fighter on neutral territory.

Froch N1 Super-middleweight. There is not a shadow of a doubt now.

don't think there was anything clear about kessler beating froch

froch is number 1 after beating dirrell, abraham, taylor and pascal

ward has beat kessler, thats it

That makes a lot of sense considering Ward beat the guy who just beat Froch or are we choosing to ignore those facts at this point.

If Froch wants to be number one there's only one way to do it - in the ring against Andre Ward and he isn't going to win that fight.

Ward beat Kessler.....Froch lost to Kessler.....therefore Froch can't be ranked over Ward.

Do you crybabies give it a rest? Kessler could have worn a football helmet and still would have gotten the **** kicked out of him by Ward.

Looking at the resume you have to make Froch No 1 SMW with Bute 2nd and Ward 3rd.

I think too much importance is given to the guy that beat the guy that beat the guy.

The overall competition he's had and the way he's performed through it, gives Froch a slight edge on top as far as I'm concerned.

Ward only has the Kessler fight to truly enhance his resume. He will get his chance to prove he's the best sooner than later anyways.

Look at froch's fights since Pascal! enough said!! lost a close decision to Kessler, but atleast he's fought tough fight after tough fight!! with no fillers in between! how many fighters actually do that??? and only losing out in one of them speaks volumes. For me, he is totally the man just based on this amazing string of match ups and wins.

Oh and today's fight was away from home, as was the Taylor fight and the Kessler fight. Stay at home Ward won't leave his comfort zone. So Froch is the man at 168.
