I'm utterly disgusted by the Sky commentary end everyone involved on that show tonight for hardly mentioning the headbutt. It's as if the accidental clash didn't occur and that it had no bearing on the outcome of the fight. It's things like this that make true boxing fans turn away from the likes of the Amir Khan hype brigade FFS. Once again the general public will be fooled into thinking that Amir Khan is an ATG in the making atsch
They mentioned it hundreds of times..... But don't let the facts get in the way of your rant !! A bit hurt after Enzo get KTFO are we ?? by an Englishman no less.... thats two in a row now:deal
never a truer word spoke. Spot on!! were not saying amir didnt look much improved tonight, he did but it is just like oh he beat barerra thats it now he's great. no mention it should of been stopped when the cut occured because it didnt get any bigger or worse, it was horrific from the second they clashed. so dissapointed. there should be a rematch for this reason but there wont be, no way...just like there was no prescott rematch and he has been forced into obscurity *spelling what a ****ing joke atleast make the murray fight now or if he is that great after "beating" barerra then put him in with marquez for **** sake aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!
What about the interviewer at ringside, so desperate to bum lick Khan. "You stopped A Mexican Legend." Disgrace.
Hate playing peacemaker but i thought the commentators referred to it plenty during the fight. Afterwards however it was brushed aside for commerical reasons (Kahn for world title e.t.c.).
What a strange post :huh My opinion on the Khan fight has nothing to do with Enzo getting stopped. I'm gutted for Enzo and he should retire now. Fact is that the Adam Smith had the balls to ask Amir Khan how he felt about stopping a legend without any mention of the head clash and Khan and the ****ing snake Warren didn't mention it either. Disgraceful.
But it was mentioned several times, as proved by the above posters aswell, you just see hear what you want to.... I'm not saying it's the win of the century or nothing.... but to think it's some sort of SKY/Warren conspiricy is pathetic
I was also dissapointed with the guys in the studio.... post-fight they didn't put reality there.... they just glossed over a 5 round fight.... where Khan was helped immensley by the fact Barrera was cut very badly very early on....before the cut Barrera was slipping quite a few punches and would have given Khan a much better fight had he not suffered the bad cut.... Khan gets credit as he was cut to....but it was far less significant for him. Khan gets credit but they over did it....he beat an old former featherweight fighter....legend yes....but faded far past his best ....again fighting someone who was way above his optimal weight limit.....given Khan all the advantages.....on top of that Khan fought barera for only 5 rounds and for almost the whole fight Barrera could not see out of 1 eye and sevearly hampered his efforts....... That's the facts Sky failed to mentioned or at least highlight post-fight.....they just said Khan is ready and everyone jumped on the Warren bandwaggon...... Khan still looked like he could get caught had Barrera not had the difficulties....and I beleive if he did get caught flush....within 12 rounds he would touch the canvas......When Barrera clipped him in the 4th he clung on for dear life....even though he seemed quite steady...... Khan will need to improve still further.....and for me....he must rematch Bredis Prescott next to exorcise his deamons and that would really shut people up....as Prescott is the same size and he can punch....Then if he does well against Prescott.....I'll praise him how the Sky pundits did tonight.....
if barrera wanted the fight to stop he should have told the docter he didnt want to continue in the 4th round when they were talking on the apron. if the fight had been stopped then it would have been a no contest.
It would have damaged the reputation he's built up over a lot of years if he had poofed out of a fight he was loosing because of a cut, however bad it was. The whole point of calling the doctor is that most fighters wont ask for the fight to be called off because it's tantamount to quitting. The doctor is meant to say whether or not it's safe for them to continue. I don't get how the doc could have thought it was OK in the fourth but not in the fifth, maybe I just missed it but I didn't see anything land in the fith that would have made it worse.
