a lot of us said this fight might be a set-up and it was, the fight shoulda been stopped and called a no-contest long before the 5th round, Barrera had a nasty cut that affected him.
It makes me sick the way these people try to dress it up as a great stoppage win over a Mexican legend. Khan will be flat on his back again sometime soon.

 

Come on...get real...if it had been ruled a no contest Khan would've won the rematch...it's the most pointless argument ever...all it would do is delay the inevitable...

It's like me getting nt he rign with miek tyson...grazing my forehead as I stagger through the ropes entering the ring and then arguing it should be ruled a no contest despite being decapitated as soon as a punch lands...

I felt cheated last night.

The cut was bad but it was just as bad in round one as it was when the fight was stopped.

When the cut occured i said to my mates they will let it go 4 rounds and then the doctor will pull him out after the 5th. Exactly what happened.

Khan did well but Barrera was covering up fairly well and he wasnt getting badly beaten imo like alot of people are saying. Barrera said after the fight that he didnt feel Khans punches and i believe him, although it was very apparent that Khans speed was causing him problems.

Also with an ending like that there surely should be a rematch as Khan didnt stop Barrera like the "experts" where making out. Know Khan needs to revenge his loss imo.

 

It likely didn't have more bearing on the result. I can't belive people some actually thought Barrera would win. You think Warren ****s up twice in three fights? No chance. Khan looked improved nonetheless. Barerra struggled to get off all night, the fight was nothing more than a workout in the end. Time for Marco to pack it in.

 

They did. Probably a few times a round.

 

As someone whose opinion was that this version of Barrera was 'levels above' anyone Khan had faced previously, presumably you will be giving due credit for how Khan dealt with the step up, cut notwithstanding?

Khan has changed his approach, his hands are set to go up to cover his chin as soon as he has thrown a few shots. But if he is put in there with the likes of Katsidis we will see a different outcome.

 

The Sky Commentary team did mention the cut frequently...Jim Watt & Ian Darke know their onions...

Adam Smith i find infuriating though. He did seem intent on pointing out how Khan 'stopped' Barrera and hyping him up.
