Bernard was never really serious about challenging for the WBC title, he just wanted to throw his name into the mix and generate interest with a show of hollow bravado. Didn't really bark up that tree for very long, though, did he? I guess Maskaev wasn't dangerous enough to wait for, as it was imperative for Bernard to unretire immediately to take on a real beast in Wright. :nod
Maskaev is a weak champ, but he'd kill Hopkins. Just pound on his arms until they drop, then pow.. RIP B-Hop.
You may not know it . . . but you're indirectly giving too much respect to Bhops. :yep Do you realize that Bhops is a 43 years old fighter who is not a Heavy Weight Fighter? :huh
Oh OK I got what you mean . . . But like I always said . . . separate the HYPES from the FACTS. Bhops calling anybody at Heavyweight is a HYPE. :yep
You're absolutely right. Where is my sense of priority? A Tarver PPV is a much more attractive proposition than one headlined by Maskaev. That's the one the people want and need.
calzaghe is the one who signed a deal that hopkins backed out of in the past....so its stupid to blame JC.
