If you read a bit into Hopkins advice for Pavlik after the fight; Joe Calzaghe moves pretty much like a "black" fighter like a Floyd Mayweather.

Kessler would stop Pavlik, to fast and to precise.

Name me a decent puncher that he fought it is not about the number of rounds.

It is obvious from the fight last night that Pavlik simply does not have the speed or adaptability to live with a guy like BERNARD HOPKINS.

If fighter A won fighter B and then lost to fighter C, it doesn't mean that fighter C will win fighter B.

Many examples in history, styles make fights.

Calzaghe was ducking Pavlik, it just took a 43 year old man to prove that he had nothing to duck.

I actually called Pavlik a basic fighter and said that a double jab right hand was asking to be exposed by B-Hop obviously no one could of picked the one sided domination but Pavlik was totally unproven above 160 against top opposition, the Taylor 2nd fight wasn't impressive.

What do u mean nothing to duck ???
He would knock Joe out. And Joe knows it.

Once again Joe is not Bernard he cannot avoid those punches.
Pavik is a puncher he didn't get exposed 2night you got a smart boxer fighting a puncher. The boxer with great defense avoided all punches and won the fight.

Now if we look at the volume boxer who cannot possibly do what the boxer did to the puncher. Sooner or later they would go in exchange and thats when the puncher would knock the volume fighter out.

    Pavlik by KO

I doubt it, Pavlik looked terrible at the weight. Having said that I can't imagine Calzaghe ever having taken the risk and stepping up to fight Bernard Hopkins when he was 26....who was he fighting then? the legendary Branco Sobot.

I think Pavlik stacks up good against Kessler.

But I agree Calzaghe schools him proper.

yeah i like calzaghe. but im hardly swinging from his balls.
im just realistic. and after tonight's performance.
frankly pavlic dos not even deserve to be mentioned in the same breath.
i always thought he was a one dimensional plodder and i hoped he would prove me wrong tonight. but hopkins highlighted his flaws big time. calzaghe would slap the utter **** out of him. full stop. no bias just common sense. its a no brainer.

Pavlik beat Taylor twice. Taylor beat Hopkins twice. Hopkins beat Pavlik.
Styles make fights, and Taylor and Pavlik would both beat Calzaghe.

the old cliche "styles make fights". Pavlic seemed to be taylor made for bernard on the night. The loss makes the calzaghe/pavlic fight less lucrative i.e not going to happen! Should calzaghe come through his next bout, I think he will fight dawson for the belts. or at least id like to see him do that. It would be an extremly close fight. calzaghe though by a close decision.
