    Boxing is all about timing
Where they to fight now, Tank would get beat and would lose badly
Loma is 30 years old, has fought in 2 olympics
Tank just turned 23 and has 20 pro fights, with most of them being learning fights
Loma has 400 amateur fights, nearly double Tank's 220 amateur bouts
Tank will be entering his prime soon. He needs a good 3-4 legitimate fights before he's ready for Loma.

Loma is in his absolute peak. Hopefully he stays in peak prime form for at least 2 more years. Tank will be 25 and in his prime. Loma at 32 will be soon exiting his. Thats a perfect time for that fight.
I saw people pushing Tank to fight Loma as soon as he got that title. It would have led to an embarassing loss for Tank at the time.

Davis is never beating Loma, regardless of when they fight.

I'd much rather see Loma go after Mikey next (who should beat Easter).

In the mean time, Tank has to hold up his end of the bargain and keep winning. In 2019, it's a fight worth making

Have to disagree. IMO, as soon as a fighter wins a title, they lose that privilege of 'not being ready' for the other top fighters.

He wanted the fast track to a title, you take what comes with it.

Not in the era of 4 belts per weight class. Plus he lost the title on the scales which is equivalent to vacating it.

It can definitely be a better fight as Tank gets more experience and confidence

I agree Tank isnt ready for Loma who just moved up to 135 and targets Linares Garcia and Pac.

So why the heck is Floyd naming Loma as Davis's next fight ?!?

Just to piggyback the Lomachenko hype ?
Floyd is an expert at fighting at the 'right time' so I think he's playing a game. He sees Loma going up and he sees talks about a potential Pac vs Loma fight so now its the perfect time to say " we wanted the fight I even called Top Rank doe but they ducking us "

Floyd is TBE at this kind of ish

I won't deny that. But he's a "champ". Baby gloves are off.

I think that was probably the case before.

Now, I think Floyd would gladly feed him to Loma to teach him a lesson. He did a lot for Tank and I really don't think Tank's social media comments went over well with him.

A lot of anti Mayweather and GG fans will disagree with you, everyone including myself were saying Canelo was to young and green that's why Mayweather beat him... I say give the kid at least one more year before fighting a very high skilled experience fighter like Loma, and no I'm no fan of Tank lol

Nah you wont see Tank vs Loma next. Floyd wont f with his money. Never

Tank said " only if its PPV " and the kid never headlined a show lol. Tank was never main event and he wants to fight on PPV ?
Thats one way to duck a fight

Kevin Cunningham, Davis's coach just said " Tank doesnt need Loma to be a star" . He said Tank's fights sell more tickets but forgets to mention that Tank was never main-event for those shows which included other PBC champions who are all Americans.

Hard to sell more than an American in the US if you're a Soviet.

If someone wants to duck Loma he can find many BS excuses

It definitely won't be next, but I feel like the timeline got moved up from from probably at least 3 years to 1-2. Floyd will probably let Tank do the talking instead of protecting him by being the public mouthpiece like he was doing.

He can drop his belt then and continue fighting prospect level opponents if that's the case.

When you win a title, you don't get to say you aren't ready. The title says you are.

the natural order of things would be for him to take his ass whooping now, keep improving while loma starts declining, then come back and whoop loma. it will never be a completely fair fight because they are too far separated in age and experience, its just a matter of catching each other moving in opposite directions.

I’d agree once you have a belt you can’t hide behind the not ready excuse and you have to defend your belt against your challengers.

If Lomachenko became a contender for Davis’s title he can’t use the not ready line to avoid him.

I think unification can be a different scenario though. If both had titles and as long as Davis was facing his top contenders there’d be nothing wrong with delaying a unification with Lomachenko. At least for 2-3 fights
