Largely depends if and when he fights Inoue imo. Although I'd give Estrada a decent shot in rematch.
He should be ok with Ioka, and Ruenroeng as long as it's not in Thailand.

 

You have to assume most of them just wanted to watch Golovkin though. Although no doubt the 2 of them have a mutually beneficial relationship.
The purses for little dudes are horrendous though. Wade 500k, Arroyo 75k?? :nut

Roman Gonzalez or whoever is managing his team, treated him as an amateur fighter with a narrow mindset focused on winning & playing it safe.

Ducking undefeated fighters is a good sign of lack of confidence

Had Roman Gonzalez faced all 5 undefeated fighters, he will be known much more regardless of the results.

because he ducked all 5, less people know him & it will always haunt his career. Especially if he gets KTFO later by INOUE, people will write him off (although he had ATG potential)

Amnat is a 50/50 fight that he needs to take now, cause Amnat is improving & Roman is not getting any rangier or faster :think

Skill is skill. Anyone under light middleweight IMO is a 'small guy' if we're playing that game.

 

I think the fact the lowest weight divisons are usually ignored has something to do with the fact that the best fighters in them divisions are usually from specific regions where the average height and therefore weight is lower.

If your average American was 5'4" and 112 pounds the division would probably have more attention.

 

Also the divisions 105-108-112 best fighters move up for big paydays & leave the division weak. Most refuse to face each other at 105-108-112 because they still have strategic cash out plans at higher weights, they can simply face each other at a higher weight & make more $

Mexican journeymen at Feather/Bantam are 105-112 guys who are bulked to build the Feather/Bantam prospects worldwide :conf

Other divisions the new comers cover up for the departed, but in 105-112 the departed can't be replaced by seasoned names from lower divisions

Of course, he deserves every bit of the recognition and is a surefire ATG by any metric, but Chocolatito oughtn't be the first guy from his weight range to break into the mainstream like he now seems to be. It has been a long, winding road for those divisions to get the attention they should've been for decades now.
