No one wants to see Canelo vs GGG again. Absolute joke.

    Au contraire.

Seems a sizeable portion of this membership does fit that masochistic profile.

    I disagree with the OP.
I think Canelo GGG 3 becomes more intriguing..
But if this fight doesn’t happen cause Canelo wants to rematch Bivol or fight Benavidez and Charlo, I wouldn’t be upset lol..

I want to see it. For some reason. GGG will be in top shape, and Canelo will not just walk in and have an easy fight.

Fury-Wilder III teaches us not to underestimate a puncher. With that being said, Wilder looked waaaay worse than GGG in their 2 fights of their trilogy.
Canelo has slowed down since their 2nd meeting. I guess bulking up was a mistake, he does not throw combinations we used to see from him, hand-speed deteriorated. And in his last fight against Bivol he looked tired. Mentally the loss could and likely will affect his performance.
Despite being older, Golovkin never was a fast fighter and his punching power is still elite level. In the last couple of fights he had monster physique. Younger GGG did not look that muscular with low body fat %.
I expect a fun fight and even if GGG is too old, he still makes a huge payday.

Yeah, I would prefer other top opponent - Andrade, Charlo, Benavidez...

Just becauce I did not like GGG in the last fight, as he was slow, old and got hit a lot

Their last fight was a great one and ended on a controversial note. That’s the recipe of a rematch. Sure, GGG has been showing his age but he’ll still give Canelo a better fight than any of his previous contests at 168.

Golovkin is the #1 middleweight. Likely still KO’s Jermall, and would be a nightmare for Benavidez.

If Canelo gets the same judges as the Bivol fight he's a lock!

He's 40, you don't have career defining fights with 40 year olds. Unless you lose.

Yeah, who wants to see the reigning World Middleweight Champion fight the reigning World Super Middleweight Champion to finish their historic three-fight series ...

When Danny Dignum, Spike O'Sullivan and Maciej Sulecki are all getting shots at middleweight belts over the next month.

    More Dignum, Sullivan and Sulecki.

    Less Golovkin and Canelo.

If for no other reason than to put the rivalry to bed, I'm fine with this fight happening. This will be Golovkin's swan song because even though I had him winning both fights 7-5, the second fight was a lot closer and tougher for him. The fact that Canelo walked to him and took space means he's probably gonna get stopped this time.

I used to think like the op, I thought GGG was over the hill esp after getting beaten up by Derevyanchenko and looking slow and getting pushed back by Murata the first half of the fight.

But the modern PED's they have going on nowadays recovers the body to unnatural levels, even past the ages of 40. We've seen what a 40 year old Marquez pumped full of modern PEDs could do when he KTFO Pac. We've also seen what modern PEDs did for a nearly 60 year old Mike Tyson, the man almost looked like his old self vs Roy Jones.

GGG has been taking all these soft touches for a reason, he's been waiting for this exact moment to get his revenge and finally properly throw down vs Canelo. Both fighters have something to prove, both are chemically enhanced to extreme levels... it's honestly gonna be an exciting fight, better than it would have been before Bivol.
