No Pavlik vs Abraham till early 2009 says Dan Rafael

That is ancient news. Top Rank wanted Pavlik/Abraham in December, but HBO did not have a TV date until January. Pavlik will fight in September, and then January.

abraham COULD loose tomorrow,and if that should ,happen,things would be different.then MAYBE pavlik will move on without any interrest in arthur.
I dont think abraham will loose to miranda.BUT one fight at the time....dan rafael knows that.ANYTHING can happen in the miranda-abraham fight.
to be honest,i dont like edison miranda,and i hope he´s get his mouth shot....at least for a couple of minutes :!:

Am I the only person on this board not all that interested in Pavlik v Abraham? If Abraham ktfo Miranda in a comparably impressive fashion to Pavlik's destruction of Miranda, I will change my tune very quickly. But I don't see that happening, and absent such a domination, I don't think Pavlik v Abraham holds much interest. I'm much more interested in Pavlik at SMW, where there's a wealth of talent. MW sucks now. IMHO.

 

Just like I thought.. Pavlik will probably fight Rubio in Sept. with Abraham fighting either Lorenzo or Marquez on the undercard which will lead to a fight between the two middleweight champions in early 2009.. Abraham will not lose tomorrow

 

I say Kessler & Abraham fight and eliminate eachother.
(They won't have to travel as far either, right maybe? I don't know GEO)

 

I feel pretty much the same way. If Abraham didn't have a belt, then there would be almost no talk about him. There really isn't anyone in Pavlik's class at MW right now.

I'm only interested in Pavlik/Abraham for 2 reasons. 1) Pavlik's clearly stated goal is to unify 160. 2) There are actually people who think Abraham will beat Pavlik, and even a few who think AA would walk right through Pavlik.

In my opinion Pavlik stops Abraham in 7-8 rounds in a fight that is far less competetive than some people think. I have great respect for Arthur's courage, but style wise, Pavlik is his worst nightmare come to life!

i personally would like him to fight against duddy this september(easy tune up) just to add more color in his resume, and to add more to his growing popularity so by 2009 we get to see him against the big names

Good points, certainly. But if Abraham limps past Miranda, or worse, loses, there would be little interest in Pavlik v Abraham. And Miranda will not come back down to MW. Pavlik would have his hands tied as far as facing a respectable fighter at 160.
