Right. Pretty anticlimactic. I don't see promoters or HBO getting behind this match-up. Which leaves Pavlik to fight a SMW or Hopkins or Tito or someone big-name like that. Who's seriously left at MW other than Abraham who could present a challenge to Pavlik that HBO and the promoters would get behind? No one, really.

    Exactly.

If Miranda wins, he'll call out Pavlik. He'll say how he was weight drained the first time and how he was weak and sickly. He'll question Pavlik's manhood by daring him to come up to 168 to fight him. He'll say he'll fight Pavlik in Youngstown, on the moon, wherever. Pavlik will be ringside, so Pavlik will probably smile and blow Miranda a kiss or something. So there is a good possibility of getting Pavlik v. Miranda II out of this.

Miranda's really got to devastate Abraham to get Pavlik's interest. There are too many other big name/big money fights out there for him. If Miranda simply wins a close fight, Pavlik will look elsewhere. If Miranda puts a David Banks on Abraham, well, that opens up a whole world of possibilities.

Pavlik has stated numerous times that he wants to get out of the fight game soon, so i'd expect him to go for the bigger paydays. He'll probably fight old man Hopkins

I think he said three years or so, at three or four fights a year? That's a lot of fights to go- I hope, anyway. But I agree. He's not going to waste time and effort fighting 2nd tier names when he can make a mint and strengthen his resume against guys like Hopkins, Tito, RJJ, etc.

He said he wants to retire at 30, but how many times have we heard that sort of thing?

His manager/father wants him to retire now. Kelly says 30.

At this point, and it's sad to say, but Pavlik really doesn't have a marquee name to make his resume look great. The only name would be Calzaghe but that fight seems unlikely. Sure there are living legends like BHop, RJJ, Tito. They're legends, but they're also barely living. It seems no matter what he does, he'll never be an ATG because he didn't have stiff competition.

Pavlik VS Duddy would be fireworks while it lasted Duddy would be taken out inside of 4! But you know Duddy will go out on his shield which is why it would be brutal but good to watch!

    Pavlik has options

    Arthur Abraham
    Sergio Mora
    John Duddy
Anthony Mundine (moving down to Middleweight)

Then step up to Super-Middle Mid 09

    Mikkel Kessler
    Lucian Bute
    Edison Miranda

I'll throw in Victor Oganov the guy is 28-1-0 with 28KO's. Yes he was stopped by Zuniga in 9 but with his 100% KO record and his fighting style Oganov VS Pavlik could be exciting especially if Oganov gets a few more decent wins.

if abraham wins miranda with tko, ko, or dramatic 12 round finish then you will definetley see abraham vs pavlik in january. A Pavlik vs Abraham fight would be awsome

This hype around Pavlik is amazing... I like the guy's style, but be realistic - the second fight with Taylor was close. This means Hopkins and Calzaghe both school Pavlik... nice guy but very very overrated...

Huh? :huh If you drew ANY conclusions it would be that since Taylor beat Hopkins by wider margins twice and Pav beat Taylor, Pav would beat Hops and Cal. Of course most will blister you for abc logic on this forum even though it work more times than not, but posters hear only seem to remember EXCEPTIONS. :D
