For the record, as long as his career in boxing is ongoing I woud'nt expect or even want Pacquiao to say, "Marquez beat me." ......but it just does'nt sit well with me, and I think even some Pinoys at home who will ask Pacquiao tough questions, that he would be arrogant enough to come out the next day after the fight and make public he thought he clearly beat Marquez by 3 points. I think that statement may come back to haunt Pacquiao with the Pinoys who know boxing and even some of his fans back home. I wonder if Pacquiao is regretting having said that allready?
Well a lot of things about the whole thing don't sit well with a lot of people. And honestly, there's not much Pacquiao or his team can do to make it up to the people who think Marquez won outside of saying he thinks Marquez won too... but I wouldn't expect him to say that either. It would take incredible character to do something like that, character that most people don't have (including me )
“You cannot win a world championship that way. If you want to become champion, you have to fight for it, earn it and win it. You cannot get it on a silver platter,”---Pac You have to understand where Pac's head is at to understand why he is in no mood celebrating these kinds of fights where things become too tactical. Pac's style and mentality is built on the fact that he wants to give exciting fights. Its not about self-preservation about him...thats why he always puts himself out there. All this talk about Pac has no defense and is a one dimensional come-forward brawler is totally irrational. He puts himself in harms way because he's fighting for his peeps...he truly is a peoples champ. He's not disappointed because he thought he lost, he's disappointed because he thought he failed his fans. And tbh, his fans puts a very high standard...a close decision win against a safety first fighter apparently seems to be a failure.
