Prime Roy hit harder than Calzaghe and was faster..

He has way too many advantages over Joe...

Stylistic nightmare for Joe is a 168 Roy... Roy is all wrong for Joe.

Calzaghe was NEVER in a ring with anyone NEAR that good, and yet you think he knocks him out?

Who was Jones ever in the ring with as good as Calzaghe? P4P nobody that I can think of.
Jones was faster than most, but Calzaghe had enough speed to be able to catch Jones and ring generalship to make Jones change his style.
Calzaghe would put Jones on the back foot and against the ropes whilst dishing out a lacy style experience to Jones.
Remember that bloated, brittle, wrong weight division Calzaghe was too much of a handful. Now give Calzaghe back his hands, at his better weight and you would see how Jones couldnt handle that unique style

You show a video of L Merchant and palm it off as Jones :patsch.
If I could be bothered to search, I could show you a couple of videos of Merchant questioning Jones competition and asking and mentioning challengers and Jones not just straight answering.
I could also dig uo the video of Collins in the ring with Jones asking for the fight and Jones trying to pretend Collins is not there. Now thats ducking and those videos exist, and are not just someone else speaking for someone

I can't find that old HBO interview of Roy in the ring before the Brannon fight, where he expresses his frustration of not being able to get good fights at 168.. He named of multiple fighters, (i forgot the exact ones) that were offered money and declined.. Hbo confirmed this.

People forget, probably because they didn't watch boxing then, that Roy was flat out scary to fighters when he was at 168.. Most of the fighters Bailey named off, all have more or less made statements questioning their ability to beat Roy... Hell Nigel Benn even said he didn't mind being second to Roy..

Bailey has more confidence they would win then they did!!! Maybe he should have been their trainer, he sees all these weaknesses in Roy that those fighters failed to pick up on!:lol::patsch

Collins almost begged Jones to fight him and said he felt Jones was chinny and would have caught him.
Jones was real scary taking apart a former LW :lol:.
Jones upped his comp and got found. He was sensible to do it later on in his career to build a legacy

Jones beat 2 fighters arguably as good or better that Joe...

    Hopkins and Toney..

Calzaghe's hit and be hit style would be his undoing against the version of Roy that fought Toney.. His defense was not good enough, he would have been hit too many times, by Jones who had elite power in either hand, and his style was just as unique as Joes..

Joe would have been hurt early, and would have had to back up and run, which he wouldn't... He would have fought fire with fire... Jones was faster, with more firepower.

I am pretty sure Collins was offered money to fight Roy...

Roy would have destroyed him though... Roy was on a different level..

Enough of the "step up" argument.. That has been exposed as bull****.

Takes one to know one and I notice there you couldnt put forward one single counter point. At least Mindreader tries, you just name call because you have no counter argument.
Run along before I school you out of ESB for good :good
