That is really, really, pretty strange. Maybe they think because Chisora is so ****ing nuts he might bite him at the weigh-in or start a scrap of some kind and they figure, why give him the chance. ...Nah. He'd just be crazy at the pressers. This is very weird.

I can't see any logical reason for this, plus it's odd that they are announcing it a few weeks out? It's probably got something to do with my next door neighbour being one almighty ****.

A private weigh-in would merely be the two fighters and a rep or two from their camp, along with a handful of others (commissioner, witness, etc, i dunno the ins and outs), held in some back room somewhere.

A public one would require more organisation, a little advertising, setting up, security etc, so if the interest isn't high enough why bother?

They should just hold it in a smaller room with a seating a capacity for 8 people. They can then claim the weigh in was a sell out and the venue was packed.

But according to ticket sales, interest DOES seem to be there.
As I posted earlier, only 1,022 seats, of the 15,000 seat SAP Arena are available.

:huh The cost would surely be so small compared to other aspects of the promotion. Look at the press conferences they have already done, the elaborate ring entrances for Klitschko fights, etc...

media complained of no proper press rooms before

fighters have said that standard promotion costs they refuse to pay like medicals and the standard 10 day accomodation nor transport costs

this is getting ridiculous these millionaires being so greedy

    what next

    I don't know about that....disregarding that stuff....every Klitschko fight since Vitali-Lewis, I seem to remember a public weigh-in.

So, to not have one for this fight, and to put a message on Facebook saying that it's because of "technical conditions", that seems strange to me.
