No, that's stupidity and you're buying it like an idiot! I said stupidity because his criticism came out of his ignorance of the fact that Pac is really hell bent on getting a seat in the House of Representatives. Manny has just filed his Certificate of Candidacy for the district of Sarangani beating the deadline set by the COMELEC. Pac's dream of becoming a congressman came ahead of any talk of Manny fighting above 130 lb, in fact, Pac ran and lost in the 2007 national election.

Unfortunately, Pac had already filed his certificate of candidacy for representative of the district of Sarangani in the May 10, 2010 election so the fight has to happen 2-3 months after the election.

It may look comical from your end but because of Pac's massive popularity in the Philippines, he has a good chance of winning a congressional seat. I have no idea if the same is true with Mayweather in the US.

I have no problem with Pacquiao running for politics. I don't doubt that he has a shot at winning, either. My point is that people are running Mayweather down over all of this and that's out of place.

Edit: That said, I'd prefer Pacquiao didn't run for politics and they just got the fight on.

It can't be made in April because Pac will be campaigning for the election.

It will be one of the largest and most significant fights in history.

Me too. I would prefer that he unify the WW and retire after that and use his popularity and influence to help in the development of sports in the country. I think he can do better as a sports official than a lawmaker.

Personally, I think March is a bad idea due to March Madness.

It's his choice, we should not fault anyone for the choices he makes specially if it's the option that makes him happy.
