I dont have Maxie Rosenbloom in my top ten 175 pounders ,but how many of them could he have beaten? Champions only In no order Moore Conn Foster Loughran Spinks Fitzsimmons Johnson Delaney Lewis Jones
I'm not saying he would have, but he COULD have beaten every single one of them. Maxie was a nightmare to fight. An unorthodox spoiler who often made great fighters look silly.
Kind of incredible isn't it? You almost want to call BULL**** on that fact, as with Greb...that NO DAMNED FILM EXISTS!!!!
rc,dig this fact : Jack Britton Harry Greb Maxie Rosenbloom - all together had 943 bouts or more and not ONE film exists of these 3 immortals in the ring...Yes life is stranger than fiction !!! _and between these 3 great fighters they were stopped about 4 times when novices, except for Slapsie Maxie who was stopped by Tommy Milligan of Britain, but claimed a low blow for the stoppage... Maxie Rosenbloom was great enough to whip the great John Henry Lewis three times in his career...Built like a weight lifter with bulging biceps he punched very lightly with open gloves, thus the appellation bestowed upon him "Slapsie Maxie"... When I was a boy I would listen to Sam Taub's Sunday radio program . He interviewd Maxie Rosenbloom and asked him, "Maxie, who was the best fighter you ever fought or saw in your long career"?. Rosenbloom quickly responded. "Harry Greb"...
