Canzoneri didn't fight again for another 6 months, then came back with 4 fights inside 33 days. Tony met Lou Ambers in a rematch an lost the lightweight world title to him in between Mclarnin fights, so had 3 very tough fights in a row, did this take its toll in the Mclarnin rematch, why did Canzoneri have such a long lay off? I notice Canzoneri also has a long lay off after the rubber match with Ambers. Heres what the New York times had to say about Mclarnin vs Canzoneri II..
