No sane person can dismiss my claim that Joe Calzaghe is the best boxer of all time..

If he beats Kessler then he is certainly the best British boxer of all time without a doubt.

He already is in my book but it should be quite clear to everyone after Saturday night. (Although I'm starting to get bad vibes about Saturday, something is telling me that Kessler is going to KO Joe I hope it's just nerves :?)

 

Joe himself has said he's the 2nd best super middle after Jones but if he beats Kessler then he will be. Kessler said that himself is the best super middle but admits he has to beat JC to prove it.

 

No, beating Kessler would simply put Joe at #1 at 168 for today.The comparisons to Ray Robinson are ludicrous.Maybe comparing Joe to Roy Jones
is more accurate.Both have records padded with second , third , and fourth raters, and a handful of good fighters, and a couple really good possibly great ones.Robinson fought more champions and top level guys in a given year than Jones or Calzaghe have fought in their whole careers.

Kessler has achieved nothing to be an elite, or a great and definately not an atg....You are just assuming he is elite,just like folks believed lacey was some elite.....The best fighter calzaghe has beat is an old eubank....
Sugar ray leonard had better skills,heart,speed,p4p power and sugars resume from 79-82 alone dwarfs that of calzaghe and kessler combined...
Man,there are ten boxers off the top of my head that are better than calzaghe,if not 30......
And he could never ever beat prime jones at 168.....

A win over Kessler makes Joe a decent bet for top100, he's still short of top50 though.

 

By the way,lennox lewis has a much better resume than calzaghe,and beat prime vitali at age 37....He was also undisputed champion and beat nearly every contendor and champ during his era.....

But seriously, he should've fought more reckognized fighters in his so called prime, because well... there was fighters out there to build a legacy on, RJJ, Hopkins, Tarver, Glencoffe, Taylor etc, etc...

Regarding his skills, I'd like to point out that he may very well be one of the most talented fighters to have ever walked in a ring.

If he had only had some fighters to build his legacy on, seriously..
